Make a contract- try this spellbounding anime!
This is quite an old review since I first watched Puella Magi when it came out however i'm going to be doing a review now. Now I love Mahou Shoujo shows and dark shows. When I first saw it I thought it was another cute Shoujo anime however I had a feeling that it wasn't all wishes and cheesecake. (There will be spoilers)

    The plot
The plot started of happy but episode 3 was when all ...

  • Think youve seen it all?
This anime brought cute visuals, amazing characters, and a story to surpass all the other magic girls anime. The anime follows Madoka Kaname, a young middle school girl who has no talents... for some reason then Kyubey appears who tells her that she can make a contract with him and become a magic girl. I don't want to give away any spoilers but this is without a doubt the darkest Magic Girl ...

This is the magic of Puella Magi Madoka Magica
There are shows I rewatch to relive the magic, only to learn the magic has faded. There are times I fear the magic has faded, only for it to persist. And there are times the magic persists, and creates a miracle that improves a show. This is the show where the magic persists. This is the story where the miracle unfolds. This is the tale known as Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

    But honestly, the ...

Reveals the Darkness inside Wish Fufillment
Madoka Magica has all the same elements as almost every other magical girl anime: a mascot that looks like a mutant cat, evil witches to fight, external sources of power for the magical girls, etc. However it is the way these tropes are explored that makes this anime shocking, deep, thought-provoking, surreal, and brilliant. The show begins deceptively: average, friendly middle-school girl is ...

Took the Magical Girl genre and flipped it around in all sorts of ways.
This being one of the first animes I watched I really had absolutely no I idea what to expect. Trailers and images of the show set it up to be a very cute and child oriented Magical Girl show, but wow, it was anything but. In short it is about getting what you want and what you are willing to give up for that, and it is amazing.

    I don't often do reviews
But this show has done things I didn't think possible. It made me laugh and it made me cry, and in the end it made me cry while giving it a standing ovation. The show is remarkably well contained within itself, telling the viewer everything he/she needs to know when they need to know it.The characters are wonderful and tragic. Most intriguing to me however was the way it managed to portray itself ...

    Too much praise received
    People used to hype about this show and still do sometimes;
This show is about a young girl named Madoka who runs into a small and very adorable creature named "Kyubey". his face ...

    Darker than what it seems
This anime, while looking like a light anime for kids on the outside changes dramatically after 2 episodes. Everything from the atmosphere to the music seems to get darker. The style of animation is also beautiful. Highly recommended if you are into dark fantasy.

  • A twist on the Magical Girl Genre
At first, I was reluctant to watch Madoka Magica because it seemed too much of a childish and very feminine show (This was years ago when I would only watch shonen animes, but my views are completely changed since then and I watch and read everything now). That was my first judgement on the art alone.
Finally, I gave the anime a try and really really liked the first episode.

    As the series ...
