  • A harrowing experience
What's like to live in a godless world? What's like to give your best and still fail? What's like to give your best and have as much tries as you like at it and still face an unconquerable challenge that has to be bested? Does giving your all for the right reasons make any difference in this kind of world or does it make matters worse? These are part of the quandaries that face the heroines of ...

  • Puella Magi Madoka Magica - A Must-Watch
I really don't know much about writing reviews or anything, so i won't pretend I do. The best way I can put this is that this anime had me crying for the first time in two years. Two years ago, my dad died, blah blah blah, sad. So it felt like I wasn't able to cry. No matter how sad or happy or whatever I was, tears never fell. But this anime got me to cry not only out of sadness, but out of ...

  • Best anime I have watched thus far
I loved this anime sooooo much. I didn't know what I was getting myself into, though. I was expecting a lighthearted and an adorable series but geez was I wrong. The plot and the whole story was beautiful and well done. The last two episodes had me crying like a baby. 10/10 would recommend.

  • My Favorite Anime of all Time
At first, Madoka Magica looks like your typical moe magical girl anime, and due to this, some people dropped it by episode 1. However, if you made the decision to keep watching, you were in for one hell of a ride. Not only does it give the magical girl genre a dark and mature twist, it also completely deconstructs all the traits and cliches present in almost every magical girl anime. I wish i ...

To reestablish my thoughts on the Magical Girl genre
As the title implies, I needed to watch Madoka Magica to remind myself of certain magical girl-esque type of things because of a certain anime this Fall 2014 season, Yuki Yuna wa Yuusha de Aru.(that and it's constantly being compared) Not to say that I'm not reviewing this, I am. I watched this back when it came out after hearing of its reputation, but I had a lack of understanding of said ...

  • Not what you would think
Judging the cute look of the characters, you'd think this would be another typical mahou shoujou series. In a way, it does follow the same formula. A group of young schoolgirls become magical girls that have to fight evil, which involves transformation sequences, pretty dresses and attacks that involve shouting out the name of the attack. For example, Mami's "trio finale"

    But this isn't just a ...

Worth every second and 50 billion more we don't have
I'm not a big anime person. I've seen the classics like Cowboy Bebop, Full Metal Alchemist, and Ghost In the Shell, so you can see why I hesitated when this anime was recommended to me. I looked it up, saw all the frills and bright colors, and immediately shot it down.

    I was stupid... So stupid.

You cannot judge this anime by its cover. That would be a high crime to humanity, equivalent to ...

  • "Whoa" is one of many ways to describe this show...
This anime strives to subvert the cutesy Magical Girl genre that we all know and love... and it SUCCEEDS. Do not be fooled by the bright costumes and premise, this anime will melt your brain in such a glorious manner that you'll be reluctant to scoop it all up and place in back into your skull.

Forget what you know about magical girls
Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a magical girl anime released in 2010. Upon first glance Madoka Magica seems like another magical girl anime with moe-styled characters. some may question why you're watching a "girl's show", but ignore them. The main protagonist Madoka Kaname lives a normal life then one day she meets Kyubey a creature who will grant any wish in exchange for becoming a magical girl. ...

  • So good and yet... so sad..
This anime at the end, was just the saddest thing alive, and because of that I really loved it, between the setting at the start and the setting at the end, it became really different from what it was leading itself out to be. This is quite possibly one of the most saddest anime's and the most fulfilling I ever saw in my life. Whether it be between the cutesy designs, to the fact that everything ...
