  • A touching, tragic masterpiece
I'm glad I watched it, make no mistake. It was one of the best and richest experiences I've had in my life, not just across anime, and part of me is sad it's taken me this long to watch it. But the other part knew what was coming, and is saying, "I told you so,".

If you're reading this chances are you've seen it, and you don't need me here. But if you haven't...

  • BEST MAGIC SERIES EVER!!
Madoka Magica isn't just an average everyday magic series. This series is a gripping tale of darkness and despair that these young girls have to deal with at the price of becoming a magical girl. The looming darkness of these girls fate shows us that not only does power come at a price, but no matter what you do you can't run from an inevitable fate of becoming what you sought to destroy, that ...

Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover
Puella Magi Madoka Magica looks like it would be a silly, girly anime about a bunch of teenage girls running around, using magic, and giggling. That's not what its about. It starts off a little slow (only is the first two episodes, really), but it gets better, trust me.

Madoka Magica is about two girls who get asked the question "What is a wish you would trade your life for?" by a magical ...

HOW DARE THIS BE SO GOOD
Okay so I don't really keep up with super long animes because I don't have the time, so I watch shorter ones like this series. I follow a few accounts on tumblr that always reblog artwork from this series, and I never knew much about it.

Finally I decided to give it a try and good god. I barely have words.

I don't want to make a super long review, I just want to say that this series left me ...

  • Urobutcher lives on the tears of others
When Urobutcher first brought the world Saya no Uta, tears were shed and his name was immortalized.

Years later, Urobutcher would then seek forgiveness from the world. "We forgive you", the world would reply in unison. Thus, the world came to know peace once more.

Then Puella Magi Madoka Magica happened. As the world recoils in betrayal, Urobutcher laughs, his soul fueled by the tears of all.

  • Simultaneously Pastel Pink and Dark
This is the series that got me to use Crunchyroll for the first time.
I had found WeissSchwarz cards of Madoka Magica and bought a few packs because of how adorable the art and characters were. When I was flipping through them, I showed the Kyubei card to one of my friends : "Look at the cute kitty!" and instead of an agreeing smile, his face twisted in horror. "That thing is NOT cute."
    "What, ...

  • These aren't your typical Magical Girls
My first impression of this anime was that it was just another Magical Girl's adventure through making friends and beating up bad guys. I could not have been more wrong. By the 3rd episode I couldn't believe what I was watching and it just kept getting better from there.

This is probably my favorite anime of all time and I can not recommend it enough.

  • Basically my favorite show ever
When I was a little kid,I always adored Sailor Moon,Cardcaptor Sakura, etc.Over time the genre got really repetitive,it was all basically the same thing.
That is until this show came along and blew my mind!

The story was awsome, charecters are great, and animation and soundtrack are superb.
It was all I ever wanted to see in this genre:An original take on a magical girl genre, with a real meaning ...

Utterly astonishing triumph of a story
Please, do NOT judge this story by its cover. Madoka is an absolute triumph of storytelling which should earn it a place among great works of fiction and not merely good anime. Certainly, the art and music are both fantastic, the script is absolutely excellent and the story...well the story blew me away. The story is poignant and linear without any extraneous junk, it is merely a perfectly ...

  • I mean, honestly, just wow...
I had heard this was good, that it was a great deconstruction of the magical girls genre, and was just all around a good show. I believed them, I just didn't quite get what everyone was losing their head over. Now I do.

From the sheer quality of the animation, to the fantastic use of music and sound, to the great writing and story, this anime has definitely ...
