REBORN!

This anime came high recommended by many people and I was always have been nagged for not watching this but after finishing the whole series and doing some extra reading I find the show sort of lack luster. The show would have kept my interest easier if it didn't go from a mafia themed plot to randomly a scifi save the world theme out of nowhere. While some like the future arc just to see all of them grown up I found it the game breaker. Seeing the Box battles made me feel like I watching some kind of pokemon Yugioh cross breed and by the end of the story the boxes didn't even matter anyway and it just became a regular fight So I never really got the point of them in the first place. The story itself is actually rather short which is why I was surprised to find this 203 episodes. Most of the episodes were recap of completely crap filler episodes and the rest were usually over extended periods of dialogue between characters trying to explain things to make sure you can actually follow what the hell is going on. But then again Im fairly sure that was intentional as half the time the main characters don't even understand whats going on they just wait until someone says kill this guy and they do their thing. The battles themselves were generally anti climatic as it was generally a big fight involving shooting giant lasors at each other until one persons lasor suddenly made a critical hit and they won. So this is one of those animes that had a good concept but got carried out wrong

Overall
I believe it cud b 10/10 cause most of the anime is pretty good.

Storyline
The storyline was awesome, except the beginning 19 episodes, where everyone is just having a "regular" life at skool. After these episodes, it gets more interesting starting from the Kokuyo Land Arc with Rokudo Mukuro and his gang. Then it would be the Ring Conflict Arc. I thought is was interesting to find out who wins and loses throughout each battle. The future Arc was my favorite so far. It had the most action and a bit of suspense. So I would rate the storyline 9.5/10

The music:
Drawing Days: It was kind of boring, but it wasn't a bad song. I rate it 8/10
Boys and Girls: This was a pretty awesome song, and had a great meaning to it also. The video was cool too. 10/10
Dive to the World: I liked the music it was a pretty catchy tone. 10/10
88:I liked this song, even though the beginning of it was a bit boring. 9/10
Last Cross: This opening was definitely my favorite. It had a lot of action and the tone of the song was cool. 10/10
Easy Go: This music video opening was great and had most of the characters in it, but in my opinion, I didnt rlly like the melody. 7/10
Sunny Day: I didnt like the melody but the video was alright. 6/10
Listen to the Radio(or was it stereo?): I didnt like the melody, but the video was REALLY KEWLL 8/10

The characters:
Sawada Tsunayoshi: He is kind of a scaredy cat and the only reason he became stronger is because of Reborn, and his friends. He can be cool and surprising at some times though. 8/10
Gokudera Hayato: He is obsessed with the 10th^^(judaime). He has anger problems and often competes with Yamamoto. But I think he's strong with the System CAI thing. He is also very smart. 8/10
Yamamoto Takeshi: He is carefree and nice. He is also good at baseball. He makes everything sound as if it is just a game. He CAN be serious at some times. However, his grades aren't very high.
Sasagawa Ryohei: He is very hotheaded and always says "extreme". As the sun guardian, he is obviously very sunny. He is part of the boxing club and wishes Tsuna to join it. 6/10
Rokudo Mukuro: I think he is a very cool character, even though he was fighting against Tsuna in the Kokuyo Land Arc. He is strong, and nice to Chrome. His followers are Ken and Chikusa. I give him a 10/10
Lambo: When he is 5-6 years old, he is a loud, annoying child. But when he becomes older, he becomes stronger a little but still remains a crybaby. 7/10
Hibari Kyoya: The leader of the disciplinary committee of Namimori Middle School. He loves his school and protects it. He also has a thing for small cute things such as hedgehog, bird, and i-Pin. He is the strongest guardian and is very quiet. He's pretty cool. 10/10
Chrome Dokuro: Her master is Mukuro. As long as she lives, Mukuro could sometimes get out of the Vindice Prison. If Mukuro dies, Chrome dies. She is a shy girl who at first doesn't understand friendship and is confused. Later on, she opens out a little, but is still shy. 9/10

Animation
I think the animation is pretty good. Except that in the beginning episodes, the drawings look a little bit uglier. In the later episodes, it is better and more detailed. 8/10

In the manga, Akira Amano has released the new part of Reborn. It was Shimon Family vs. Vongola Family! It's about the Inheritance ceremony of the Vongola Family to be the next 10th generation boss, Tsunayoshi Sawada. Some of their allied families went there to attend the ceremony. Yamamoto was injured because of Kaoru Mizuno of Shimon Family attacked him. Chrome used her illusions to pretend that Yamamoto was there in the ceremony. When the Ninth generation boss was given the vongola sin (blood of the Primo) to Tsuna. The Shimon attacked and revealed that the sin was not the blood of Primo, it was from Cozart Shimon (the first boss of Shimon) and then by dripping into his shimon rings, Enma (current boss of Shimon) was enabled to do the Hyper Dying Will Mode. He break the Vongola rings and soon they leave. Talbot (a mysterious old man, who seemed to be acquaintance of the Ninth and he also known Primo) fix the vongola rings to a new power rings called the Vongola Gear. Then, they arrived to the Shimon Island to fight against them. The Vendice were arrived and told them the Guardians must battle each other, with the loser will be imprisoned in Vendice prison forever. When the fight of one of the guardians is over, the key will be the prize to know what is the story between Vongola and Shimon family first meet.

The Good: Very Funny show at time, good to really good action, interesting characters, sci-fi. Love the post credit material.
The Bad: Way too much talking and flashbacking in the middle of the fight scenes. And every time someone gets hit why does everyone have to yell out their name. Why are all the women on this show A) usesless in a fight or not even getting a chance to fight always cooking and cleaning C) pretty shallow? Why do they have to yell so much. And really I know the budget was tight but did one arc have to last 75 eps.



Looking at the premise of this particular series one would expect gangsters, blood, and all kinds of illegal activities to abound. Fortunately, instead the viewer is treated with a shonen show with instresting twist. When the main character is a complete loser , a baby tutors him in mafia life, and you throw in back to the future minus doc and the Delorean, you get a wacky mix that entertains. This is a show for those who enjoy a simple light-hearted plot that does not get saggy with issues. Its also for those who enjoy very little romance in the show. I would recommend this show for fans naruto since they both are action comedies for the 5-15 y/o male demo.

I really enjoyed the comedy in this show. Reborn's torture of loser tsuna was hilarious at times and the best parts of the show lie in the odd student teacher relationship they have. The show is worth watching just for the laughs. The music is enjoyable for the most part and the animation does not have too many issues other than the changing bust sizes on female characters, although Its not enough to distract viewing too much.

Reborn has some very interesting characters, yet surprisingly in 203 episodes most of the characters don't get all that developed and a few even regress.
The show does not go into the depths of the underworld like Durara and Baccano. It stays away from heavy issues like escalation of violence and the consequences of ones actions in a mafia lifestyle. That said, I should warn all viewers, this is not a show for someone who enjoys The Saprano's, The Godfather, or Scarface. I can understand why the creators did not draw from western influences like those, but what shocked me the most was how little Yakuza feel there was to this show. To be honest there is only one character that would fit in a typical yakuza or mafia show.


I could go on about things I like and disliked but overall I was pleased with the show. But this is a show worth watching for its entertainment value.

Summary
Tsuna, a timid junior high student, is a failure at school, sports, and social life. But everything around Tsuna has been completely changed when a baby called Reborn, who claims to be an Italian hit man from Vongola family shows up! Reborn was sent to groom Tsuna for his future life as a mafia boss of the family!

Review
With the series drawing to a close, I decided to write a review on the show I've watched since 2007. I first started watching this show after a friend suggested it to me. I think at that point, the Mukuro arc had just come to a close. From a first glance, this was not my kind of thing. After watching anime like Cowboy Bebop. But once I sat down and decided to give a shot I was quiet surprised! At first it's your cliché high school loser who doesn't know right from left, but once the series progresses you understand why it has such a solid and loyal fan base.

I got to the Mukuro arc after about two weeks of watching the anime. And I was stunned! All of a sudden this light hearted anime turned into a violent and very interesting story. But then it got dull again. I didn't understand why they went back to the pointless fillers. But then came the Vongola Ring arc.

I thought this arc was absolutely amazing! The character development, the action and the new characters all amazed me! The animation also got a lot better at this point. As if the writers and animators of this show thought "Yeah, we're amazing." All I can say is wow. This arc really made me smile a lot, and even get goosebumps at certain points!

Then came the Future/Milfiorie arc. I always suspected something was going to happen around the Ten Year Bazooka, but I really never expected this. This arc was the longest so far, but following the traditional trend of the past arcs, it was even better. I didn't think they could top it after this arc. And I was right.

Next came the Inheritance arc. Unlike the previous arcs of the series, it was a slight let down to be honest. They went from this amazing future arc to them going back in time to get the first generation Vongola's inheritance. What I never understood about this arc was, why didn't they just stay in the past? I mean, the whole goal of them being in the future is to get back to the past. Here they are, in the past! Why did they have to return? I know this arc wasn't in the manga, but there's a reason for that. There was no need for this arc. It was pointless to have more episodes in the anime.

And the final arc of the anime was The Six Real Funeral Wreaths. I forgot all about how bad the last arc was after experiencing this arc. It literally blew my mind. I can understand why the writers ended the anime here (I know the manga is still going). This was a fantastic ending of the series. Everything was put into place, there were not strings left that they hadn't covered. This was it. The end. And I don't blame them for ending it here. It was amazing. I think if they'd of gone on any longer it would of gone down hill. The writers were smart to end here.

So, now you know my views on this anime. I recommend to all my friends (Even ones who aren't into anime!) because it was just that amazing. I give this show a 9/10. I would give it a 10 but with all the fillers and re-cap episodes it just doesn't quiet push it. If you haven't watched this anime, watch it.

Although this series is fairly long, it's definitely worth watching. Like most of the long animes, this one starts out boring because they show you how the characters are formed into groups before they get to the climax. Even though the first few episodes are boring, at the same time they are funny. So for the ones who are planning to watch this series, it might take a long time to get to the part where it's really exciting, but don't give up! Why? because when you do reach the part where it's really good, you won't regret it. However, let me warn you, there might be a lot of recaps, which, in my opinion, is a waste of time. It took a long time for me to finish because I had to wait for the new episodes to come out, but you guys don't, so start watching! =)

Reborn is probably one of the really good animes I've watched in a whileee but honestly its full of surprises. This anime is basically about Tsunayoshi Sawada, a average kid who just about fails at everything and one day out of nowhere this hitman know as "REBORN" says he's to become the 10th generation boss of the "VONGOLA". And it goes own about he gradually gets stronger while making friends and foes as well. Now i should proboably mention that if you wanna get into this anime don't expect anything until the episodes in the late 20ish. where he( Tsuna) finally starts to show some promise as well as his hidden potentials. The support characters in this story are not amazingly interesting but the story does a really good job at making each stand out individually and they actually become useful further on. Personally in the beginning i didn't really dig the music in it but after around the 3rd season the music get amazinnggg. All i can for this amine is ...expect surprises.:P
