I've sat through and watched all 203 episodes, recaps, the Dangerous Interviews, the cute commentaries the whole walnut. The more I watched it, the more I thought there was going to be a pay off in story or at least a satisfying denouement, not at all, but there were some interesting Mangaroos (yes, you read that right) and other such silliness.

I've sat through and watched all 203 episodes, recaps, the Dangerous Interviews, the cute commentaries the whole walnut. As the show started out, it was flashy and weird, typical of a Japanese style Anime that seats itself, close to but just enough off real life. As the story progressed more whimsical things happened, for example; a high ranking Mafia Hit Squad shows up made of predominately Adults who instead of assassinating their targets, set up elaborate bouts to determine what side would be true successors of "The Family".
This kind of thing happened constantly thoughout the series. Half of, if not 3/4 of the show itself could be skipped with the amount of "catch up" practically EACH episode had at the start.
At some points in the later seasons, the recaps lasted 5-10 minutes of the entire episode, IN A ROW. I understand having a recap once in a while is nice for new viewers who are not looking to invest the hours I have, but there is a limit to this. The recaps made it seam like the producers didn't think the audience had the mental capacity to remember what happened 7 days ago (for those who didn't have to wait, that's how long the original release dates were in Japan and Crunchy Roll for later seasons). It's almost insulting.
Now I'm not going to spoil anything with this review and I understand that the target audience is not for the 20+ area, but to say this show is pedantic would be an understatement. A lot of things feel like they are slapping you in the face with a fish, but they tell you it's not (sorry, weird metaphor).
I would say you can skip a MAJORITY of the show, literally skip 10 - 15 episodes and watch the Recap, bam, I just saved you about 230 minutes of your life. The show itself, for the fans it great. I imagine there is a big following for the show to have 203 episodes (Those counting that's roughly 4669 Minutes or 77.5 Hours or 3.24 Days...hot chaos I spent a lot of time watching this....) and I wouldn't say DON'T watch this series. I would say, as I already have SKIP FREQUENTLY. Watch the first 5 Episodes, if you like it keep going. But trust me, skip often. It's the only good part about the Recaps.
I don't score shows in my review, but Crunchy Roll asks that we put one. So I give it 3 out of 5, as this show is Average at it's worst (barely watchable, seriously) and pretty good at it's best. The "powers" they get later in the series are pretty cool, but EXTREMELY (pun for the Riohi Fans) not needed to be there, as it detracts from the story as it becomes a Dragon Ball Z without any real resolution. : p
