  • A Rather Unlikely Delight
I was very intrigued about this anime because from the get-go the aesthetic was atypical of most anime. The faces and general color scheme were different, and when I took into account that this was an 'Italian Restaurant', it all made sense and the look gave the series a more genuine feel. I felt the storyline was more adult. The characters all have different personalities which touch all over the ...

  • PS RE: Ristorante Paradiso
Ristorante Paradiso was a great anime to watch. The setting was gorgeous and the plot was very good. You'll find that once you've started it abruptly ends and you wish the creator would have carried on a couple more episodes instead of hanging everyone off of an angst-y cliff.

    A delicious fantasy.
What Antique Bakery is to young men and French pastries, Ristorante Paradiso is to older men in glasses and Italian cuisine. It's not really grounded in reality for waiters and restaurant owners, but if you can forget about reality it's very enjoyable. The animation is a little strange (big mouths) but it's easy to get used to. The characters are the best part of this show. Unlike the typical ...

  • Ristorante Paradiso a romantics ideal
When Nicoletta arrives in Rome her intentions are to sabotage the happiness of the mother who abandoned her by revealing all to her step-father. However, the mysterious restaurant a little ways from the centre of Rome, the great romantic city, and its unusual staff soon win her over.

Ristorante Paradiso is beautifully animated and the plot is gentle but engaging. Through the course of the ...

  • Give this unique anime a try!
Watching Ristorante Paradiso was like settling back with a good book. It's storyline and pacing had that "day in the life" feeling as if you were peeking in on these characters' daily routine. Each one of them felt very real, very alive and the story quite believable. No bells and whistles here (none needed!) just a lovely, lovely tale of a girl and her relationships with the folks who work at an ...

    Anime for people to try
This was an alright anime. I thought I should try something different and it wasen't as bad as I thought. The music fit well and the characters were alright. The animation is unique in its own way and the story wasen't half bad. I say this a anime for those calm viewers who like shows that don't like the huge twists and stuff like that. Easy to follow, and not too long of a series. I say if you ...

    A Decent Mild Distraction.
Ristorante Paradiso is the kind of series that comes every once in a while and becomes like a breath of fresh air amidst the popular mainstream series and their generic clones. As an Otaku it is hard not to appreciate what it boldly tried to venture on and yet lament on how it fell short.

    Storyline
While the first 2 episodes seem promising for a story about a taboo love with family ...

    An unexpected favorite.
I really was thrown when I first started watching this anime.I'd never seen or heard of an anime that had a male cast of strictly older guys. Over the course of it's 11 episodes, I've grown very fond of this show and am sad to see that it's over. It turned out to be the single gem in the current anime season and there is such a wonderful sense of family in this that is hard to find elsewhere.
