  • Saki Episode of Side A
This show really got me interested in Mahjong. I've always thought of it as a solitaire game. I had no idea it could be a competitive game.

The show it's self is sweet. It's about growing friendships as well as self growth. The Mahjong competitions can be crazy intense. Almost comical at times. Worth the watch.

  • Great background/side-story
Honestly, I was kinda surprised they had a "side story" in conjunction with the actual main story because even in the manga, the main story wasn't even close to being done.

However, I'm glad there is a background story that ties in nicely to the the mysterious Nodoka because it really lends to see how each character grew up. Also gives us a nice idea of what the other teams the Kiyosumi team ...

    Better than Saki!!!!
The matches in this show are crazy intense! Another plus is the lack of yuri-undertones (which isn't needed in the first place), as compared to the original show.

    Two downside for me:
--yuri-undertones were greatly reduced, but not completely gone. That erks me.
--Some characters still don't know how to dress.

A bad story that i've continue to watch.
Saki A.deals with loads of filler that gives sympathy to the opposing force and large amount of long period of special moves that delay as much as possible.

Everyone has a reason to win, therefore; for some reason the story comes to an halt in order to introduce those unimportant background character. With so much time invested in other background character, the story is should only be 6 or so ...

    Disapointing second half
After they reach the semi-finals things are taking a real downturn. Flashbacks, flashbacks, flashbacks. Players who can not see only one turn ahead, but two! One player that is impossible to beat, no special reasons given, just that she always does it. Two full episodes on one single game, I'm on the third episode of that game now. This is getting to the point where you fast forward to skip the ...

    Saki Episode of Side A
Let's play Mahjong! Once again another group of moe girls. For Saki fans yay! Everyone! Still remember Kazekoshi and Tsuruga? Well Momo and Yumi will come in. Kanbara too. Mihoko is still super nice. In addition our long awaited champion Miyanaga Teru finally shows up! Saki still gets lost like always. Also other schools with other pro players. It's the nationals. Let's watch Achiga >.<

    When Fate Ties Together
Saki Achiga-hen Episode Side A is about the action of mahjong matches taking place in the nationals with 5 girls in a mahjong club from Achiga Girls School. If you haven't seen Saki, the main series where Saki makes her way in the prefecture course, go see it now. This is what fate looks like, it all ties together.

Saki side A, is like a fanfiction!
After watching the first 12 episodes of Saki Side A, my opinion is that this is like watching a Fanfiction, that wants a different ending. What I mean is from the start the goal is for the girls of Achiga to see and win Nodoka back, and has little to do with Saki at all. This is just like a Fanfiction, that a person writes, visualizing themselves as the Hero who comes in and wins it all in the ...

    Saki, Episode of Tokis Sickliness.
I've been eager to write this review for days since the semi finals in the national tournament started; however, I thought i'd wait to cast my final opinion until the end of the series. Alas, my opinion has not changed.

I was quite puzzled at first to hear of a spin off series, or rather a "side story," to the Saki Manga/Anime. A proper Saki season 2 is fervently desired after all, but to due ...
