School Days

I don't know why, but a lot of people give this anime a bad reputation. Well, I kinda can understand, but it is by no means a bad anime. While some of the plot can be predictable, and could be considered a typical love triangle romance (well, more like a pentagon romance) anime for the first portions, it is still enjoyable. The only "bad" part I would say is how the love triangle got started. However, being a high school romance, you see broken hearts, characters in desperation, and an interesting conclusion, and for the most part you see how normal high school students would react to such emotions and romances.

School Days is probably one of the most despicable shows that anyone will ever watch. There are two saving graces to this show: its ending, and the fact that it's only twelve episodes long' anything longer than that would have been too long.

It starts innocently enough. Makoto Itou has a crush on his classmate, Kotonoha. Sekai, Makoto's new friend, finds out about it and succeeds and getting the two together... even though she's in love with Makoto herself. The first two episodes are completely G-rated. They suck you in, thinking that you're just watching a regular high school romance anime. At the end of the third episode, when Makoto is on the phone with Sekai, he reveals that he is getting "bored" with Kotonoha. This one sentence is of a completely different tone than the rest of the series. It can only go downhill from here. And it does.

Anything else I say will just spoil the show. But I'll just say this; Makoto manages to break the trust of every single girl that ends up falling in love with him in the show, and despite that, and every single awful thing he does in the anime, all of these girls are still in love with him even by the time the anime ends.

Every single one of the main characters in this show is repulsive. If they do not start out that way, they will eventually become repulsive. If they at first seem reasonable in a mist of selfish characters, they will become selfish themselves. There is no exception to this rule.

You're so busy shouting at your computer screen, you forget to ask yourself exactly WHY all of these girls are in love with Makoto. There's is nothing special about him. The only reason that he stands out from other harem protagonists is how horrible he treats the girls who love him.

Despite how disgusting the anime is, there is one thing about the anime that makes it infamous; its ending. And good God, what an ending it is. The last five minutes of this anime is one of the most baffling, out of nowhere endings to have ever been conceived. The only reaction you can possible think of is "....What." Despite how out of nowhere the ending is, it's still one of the most satisfying endings I've seen in a piece of fiction, because two of the main characters get what they deserve in the end.

I would recommend the show SPECIFICALLY because of the ending. That being said, School Days is still an awful show.

I was not going to write a review on this, but it has haunted me ever since I finished the last episode. The characters are complicated, twisted... what you see on the surface is not necessarily all that is there. It does not truly begin to fall into place until the very last episode, when all heck breaks loose. Whatever you do... DO NOT SKIP to the end of the show, and better yet, do not look at the comments until the end of the show. (They may give away the ending). All in all, this show has risen to the very top of my favorite anime series. I am impressed with the cloak and dagger writing, the twists and turns and the sheer desperation of the characters. This is good watching. Enjoy.

Storyline 5/5 Stars

This anime had so many twists and turns that all I wanted to do all day long was to watch it. At first you think it's this adorable sweet anime then it turns, and you're like okay ummm I guess that fine. But then it hits the fan and you are just sitting there confused but enthralled. The storyline is simply amazing and I have NEVER seen an anime like this before. It just blows your mind

Each character was given so much thought and time put into that I just simply fell in love with. They dig deep into each main person and find their true personality and show who they truly are, which is sometimes rare in an anime. Not all girls are nice and this anime proves it.

It's been a while since I've seen it but I never rate music high. The intro and outro weren't that bad but could be better.

Animation 4/5 Stars

It's a bit low quality but that is to be accepted. The girls look childish which I'm not a fan of but that gets blown out the window as the story goes on. The shading is great and oh god the gore. love it.

I absolutely love this anime. I don't want to give too much away though if you haven't seen it. If you are ready for the ride of your life and well yes horror I'll give you that one. Then I suggest you watch this anime.

School Days is a romance/slice of life/ drama anime with a dark twist.

Its not often I can emote with the characters on such a level where I either genuinely feel sad and hope the situation turns out better for them or start shouting at the TV like a crazy person with intense rage and School Days can do just that.

It starts off as a simple school crush between Makoto and Kotonoha and they eventually start dating but this quickly turns into a love triangle because of Sekai's constant interference and this becomes the base of the story line. The trials and tribulations of being in this situation begin.

At first, I thought Makoto was a kind, genuine guy so I could understand and emote to him but he later shows this sex driven motive disregarding anybody else's feelings which REALLY makes you want to smack him!

But the ending is both sweet and sour at the same time.

Overall this anime is a really well put together drama which I'm sure you'll relate to. (the school crush, of course lol)

OK, so this show starts out normal. Guy likes girl but is to shy to talk to her
then this other girl sets them up, at first i really didn't see the big deal with this show and watched it because of a referral. but as the episodes went on i could tell this would get crazy.

So Itou likes Kotonoha but as Sekai sets them up and spends more time "training" Itou he begins to have feeling for her (can't say i didn't see that coming) and them it turns in to cheating after cheating. Though you have to wonder if they made Itou to be hated on purpose, yea at fist i felt bad for him cause lets be honest guys can be easily manipulated by pretty girls but then he started thinking with the wrong head WAY TOO MUCH. which then it was his own damn fault. Especially at the end I pretty much could care less what happened to him, sleeping with lots of girls and not caring about it or Sekai (who supposedly gets pregnant.) But he tried to straighten things out with Kotonoha in the end probably because everyone started leaving him even though Sekai still hadn't given up on hope, but it was pretty much too late for that and was pretty crazy how it all ended in revenge.

but if you want to watch a show that's physiological this ones alright
id have to give it a 7/10

I would like to say first off, i loved this it is very different from what i was used to seeing in most anime.. With that being said, this series is very psychotic with twists and turns. Full of lies, deception and sex (lol) it held my interest to the very last episode. Now many people who watch this already say because of the ending they consider "bad" the series as a whole is bad just based off the ending. Think what you will when you watch this, the ending was indeed weird but surprisingly fitting. I do recommend you watch this and see for yourself.
