School Days

It starts out pretending to be a cliche love triangle where an undesirable main character is burdened with the choice of picking between the best friend and the hot chick. This premise doesn't last long. The main character quickly devolves into a sex crazed chauvinist and the love interests are all too happy to let him screw every girl in school(literally). By the time they finally drop the "shocker" twist ending, you don't even care what happens.

The characters are cliche and annoying. The plot is just a failed attempt at being a clever troll. The worst part is that decent music and animation was wasted on this show. Anyone saying this show is good is either trying to troll you or delusional. If you have to see this show, I recommend saving yourself the agony of watching the terrible setup and skip straight to the punch line.

If watching graphically violent girls really gets you off, I'd easily recommend Elfen Lied over this. Elfen Lied doesn't pretend to be something it's not. It tells you exactly what to expect from episode 1. Also, Elfen Lied at least has interesting characters and a real story. It doesn't waste 11 episodes with the worst high school romance drivel to ever be animated just to try to troll you at the end. I'm not averse to gratuitous violence as long as it's entertaining.

TL;DR: if you've watched this show, you've been trolled.

This anime is just terribly good? It reflects many themes of dishonesty, lust and High School Student Drama's with love triangles and such.

I thought the characters each and everyone of them were very unique and there was excellent story/character development. The plot is very intense and leaves so many cliffhangers after each episode.
Music Opening and Ending are Pretty good and the OST is decent too. Animation is pretty up to date, nothing too good or bad.
I think the producers really thought this one out, because the reason why it's so scary is because all of this can happen in real life.
I watch Hellsing Ultimate and feel fine. But after finishing this series I feel like barfing my insides out and I am going to have nightmares.

Warning: Do not watch this anime if your expecting Ecchi, Romance, Comedy or Slice of Life.

What you are watching is a disgusting voyage of one ignorant male student and how he walked to hell bringing so many lives down with him.
Viewers with strong stomachs is NECESSARY.

This is a story about high school life. Something like this has happened at my school. I really understand how this went. I saw clues to what would happen in the end and I was correct about it.



Anyways I think this is a great anime.
Very touching, and definitely a slice of life.

I will start off by saying that this is a review of the anime as a whole. I may not of liked how a character or 2 acted or how it turned out but it was an amazing story and well scripted. Im tired of people rating this down because of a douchy character and bad ending. In like not everyone is perfect and that's why this is a good anime it's not all love and rainbows it shows how even an inoccent nice person can become a womanizer and it shows the effect of that womanizing on his victims......

This is my review on School Days from another site. I hope it doesn't fall under copy-paste since I did write it myself.

School Days is a psychological anime, number one, so do not think it is about cute children playing in school and having happy days. School Days is an anime about how cheating on someone can really end up messing with their head and lives and how the human heart and mind are very fragile and how friendship is very precious and when destroyed in the worst way, it can have the worst consequences.

The main character is your seemingly typical anime guy in high school that listens to music and has a bunch of perverted thoughts about girls all the time, but who turns out to be quite different than your usual main character guy and he has a crush on this girl that he sees on the train all the time and he ends up taking a picture of her and putting it in his phone. In class, another girl who he happens to sit next to, named Sekai, sees the picture in his phone and tells him her name and then, from there goes about getting him and the girl on the train to know each other so that they can try and start a relationship, all the while falling for him herself.

This anime is very much a psychological anime and deals with relationships and what happens when someone cheats on someone, but not only one person, many people. The main character is one of the most despicable characters I have ever seen, if not my MOST HATED character and cares nothing for the people around him, it seems, but to be able to hate him that much and to have so much passion for his pain and wishing something bad would happen to him was an exciting feeling because I really felt he would have to get what was coming to him. He hurts basically every single person he meets and cares nothing about how they feel when he is done with them, only to use them again in the future. He walks all over every girl in the anime, save one or two, and they all basically sit around begging for more mainly because they want to know what it's like and why the others are doing it, so they do it, too.

The majority of the anime the main character is, in my opinion, a sociopath, as well as a sex-addict, but there are moments here and there where you see that his actions actually do bother him and these are very important in this particular anime because if they did not have them, he would truly seem to be a monster. It is sometimes scary that the most evil people are not demons or supernatural at all.

The ending is something that is perfect, though, in my opinion and it is something I ABSOLUTELY saw coming, but the way that it was done was really something creepy and gave me chills - I really enjoyed it! It was an awesome turn, but something I saw coming the entire time and something I kept repeating throughout the entire thing, over and over again and when it finally happened, I was extremely happy and satisfied. It has a very twisted ending, as well, so do not be fooled by the innocence of the title because this anime is anything but innocent, but make sure you watch until the end because there is more than just one awesome, sick twist at the end that will leave you satisfied with the feeling you get watching the rest of the anime.

Everyone basically gets what they deserve because this anime shows that the human mind and heart is an extremely fragile thing and that you can't just push someone aside like they are trash the second you are done with them because they may not be done with you or ready to let you leave.

This will be my first review ever, so, hope I do this properly.

Storyline: It's your cliche boy loves girl type introduction. At the very beginning everything is pure-hearted and sweet. Knowing that this was a "Yandere" anime - I knew it would go from sweet to horrifying. Keeping that in mind - I got exactly that in this series. As the story goes on, friends betray each other and it becomes a harem for the main character boy Makoto Itou. Feelings gets betrayed and played by each other. And it's just one giant mess towards the end.

Music: I felt like the music DID NOT belong to this anime. It's so peppy and happy introduction. Making it seem like your typical school boy and school girl story. But no - it's like a trick. XD However, I do see a connection of the OP and ED songs. As a Yandere genre (sweet to horrifying)... I guess you can say a Happy Opening song to a more Sad and Depressing Ending song. To be honest though, the songs weren't too bad by itself. Something nice to listen to on its own.

Characters: The way I saw it, each character were an extreme of a type of personality. You have your Playboy (Itou), your Innocent Girl (Kotonoha), Sluts (Otome and her friends), True Friend (Setsuna), Third Wheel (Sekai), and Unlucky Guy (Itou's friend).

Itou is a character that starts of as an actually nice boy. When he falls for all of his urges and don't think about the consequences - each incident changes his personality. He goes from good guy to bad guy. He begins to have no feelings for anyone and just has sex with whomever would give it to him. At that point in time, whoever is easy - he'll take advantage of her.

Kotonoha is a character who is pure and innocent. She doesn't know all the sexual things and is really sheltered and naive. She goes into a relationship innocently and expecting a kind response. As the story goes on, she is overwhelmed by the lies and doesn't know who to trust.

Sekai is the matchmaker. The nice girl who tries to bring people together while pushing her feelings aside. As time prolongs, her feelings for Itou grows stronger and begins to fall into Itou's "playboy" traps. She's a pushover and gives whatever Itou wants.

Animation: I really thought this was a sweet anime. Everyone looked so happy and the art was decent. I liked the way it was drawn.

Overall: I found this anime to be seriously disgusting - yet beautiful at the same time. Because this anime was set to the "extremes" - it really gets pushed over the limit. The beautiful thing about this anime was that ... these are real life situations that happen to many people. I could even relate to some of these characters (but not completely of course). We may not think that there are these type of players out there, but there is. Girls getting hurt and girls betraying each other is a common thing. Friends looking out for each other - no matter how hurt they themselves will become. This anime is actually very real. I've seen these things happen. It's sad, but it happens.

Even though I have been obsessively watching anime for years, I haven't seen many of this genre. There are points to this show which are very true to actual high school life (unlike many high school animes) but most of this is completely out there. The fact that Makoto gets to sleep with nearly every girl in the school, for instance. But I have to say, even though I sensed someone was going to be murdered, the ending caught me by complete surprise. In fact, it's been 15 minutes since I saw the last episode and my eyebrows are still glued to my hairline. Whoa.
