School Days

Storyline: Every story needs its events and twists, this one is full of them, to the point that you can attempt to predict to whats going to happen, Somewhat half the time you might be correct but still as you watch School Days i found it became harder and harder to try and work out what was going to happen except that it was not going to end well. Unlike most animes of the type i thought this anime was of which if i had to define just exactly what this anime is in a few words. It would be exceptionally difficult to pick what words i think would fit it. Still the plot unravels and hooks the viewer in, as somehow you want to find out whats going to happen next, until the climax

Music: Animes are usually always made better with the music that is chosen, although i am not quite a huge fan of the opening and ending theme, it still is nice enough to listen to but the background music that is used without the anime is just stunning. Other then that i can't say much more then that except the opening and ending themes were just not what i liked.. but still that's not what i am judging this music score on

Characters: Realistic.. that is the key thing about this anime, each character shown to most of a degree shows human-like aspects, their personality, psychology, traits and habbits. To the point that if you watch closely each have their own quirks, and its quite easy to tell who is who by how they are drawn differently from each other. You can even tell from how they are drawn who are the more outgoing ones, and who are the more reserved or shy types just because of the effort put into them. Still i think the male character although is like some males, is just a character I, and probably others can not like. Being male i can mildly relate to how he feels and what not.. but it gets ridiculous at points and being the male character.. it is not someone you should have an utter hate and despise for. Still i suppose that was what he was designed to do as a character

Animation: Although reasonably simplistic in numerous aspects, it has enough detail in it and a good flow, that is quite pleasant to watch. Everything of course is drawn in an consistent style, yet recognizable easily as to what is in the scene. Even the ending which as horrific as it is, is animated beautifully. Visually and psychologically it connects well with the audience but the flow of that scene is expected and yet at the same time not at all.

Overall: Was worth my time watching, although i think its the type of anime that is watch once.. be amazed and affected by its story some what and probably not watch again. I give it an 8/10 as quite a bit of the plot could have been better, the ending not so strong in being so twisted when the anime began as a nice calm love shy love story. To go from one extreme to another, well lets just say its enough to not make me want to watch it again even though its great. Personally i would have liked to see Itou to go crashing down, but not to a point of death, and not for Seika to simply end up being killed and gutted pretty much just for the other psychotic characters morbid curiosity and insanity reasons
