Fun and Occasionally Heartwarming Without Taking Itself Too Seriously

Seitokai No Ichizon is a fun show to watch. It doesn't take itself too seriously, and while it often launches into the realms of craziness, you know that it's only a matter of time before it comes crashing down with "self-deprecating" humor.

Seitokai No Ichizon is a fun show to watch. It doesn't take itself too seriously, and while it often launches into the realms of craziness, you know that it's only a matter of time before it comes crashing down with "self-deprecating" humor.

A lot of the reviews here are pretty critical about "nothing" happening. While you could certainly look at it that way, this show was full of characterization and subtle growth. It's a fantastic example of slice-of-life done right which will appeal to both genders and all ages.

I'd recommend this show to anybody with a sense of humor. It's fantastic. The other reviews tend to slam it on a few points (nothing happening, too many anime references, and so on), but I think the vast majority of humanity will enjoy those aspects. They're all done in a very tongue-and-cheek kind of way, and make up a lot of the things that led to me loving the show.

PS: Bonus points for those who caught all of the Visual Novel references ; ) (Fate/Stay Night forever!)

While having some funny moments, it still struggles with the fact that nothing ever actually happens. TLDR:
Pros:
-Girls are cute
-Some funny moments
Cons:
- Uses fanservice to try to pad out episodes
- setting is trite
- no plot/problems are inconsequential
- Almost as bad as Famlily Guy for its amount reference jokes.

Funny, but nothing special

This is a funny, good-natured show that will be best enjoyed by those with the dubious distinction of having watched far too much anime. But why not take it up a notch and watch Lucky Star instead. Or transcend this genre entirely and watch FLCL again.

if you want a feel good anime where characters make you laugh and warm your heart than this is a great anime to watch!!

it's got the essentials: cute characters, touching moments, strong bonds, emotions, and just incredible simplicity at it's best

Being an anime buff, I noticed nearly all the references in most of the episodes, but it sometimes is just not funny, and if I hadn't watched all the anime that I do, I would be out of the loop. Being an anime buff, I noticed nearly all the references in most of the episodes, but it sometimes is just not funny, and if I hadn't watched all the anime that I do, I would be out of the loop. I even had to look up a few references to understand certain jokes, and it takes away from the humor unless you understand exactly what they are referring to. This anime is worth a watch, however, if you appreciate obscure references and harems.

Yet another well done harem comedy that has stolen my heart. This anime has a mixture of comedy, parodies, and everything that makes a great funny show. The Students Councils discretion has a little something that can be related to everyone no matter who it is. It could appeal to the sports anime people. It could appeal to the secretive anime people. It can even appeal to the otaku people. The little amount of people that are in this show makes it so very amazing. Even the manga that this anime was based after was amazing. I say that I like just about everyone of the animes that I watch are good, but this one is so far down the list of commonly watched shows; it was amazing. The characters blended in perfectly as the main protagonist did his best efforts to conquer each of the girls hearts at one time. The parodies that this show includes are so commonly known that if you do not recognized them; you need to stop watching anime. Each character's traits are very enjoyable to see be used to avoid trying to be conquered. Having a harem is nearly impossible (mainly because its illegal and girls usually don't swing that way.) but it is the main point of the show. A boy tries to get an entire 5 person harem at 1 time. The show takes place in mostly one room which adds to the creativity of the show. Its sort of like Wagnaria (another anime on CR.) in a way. Shows take skill to make if they are mainly in 1 area. There are a few other area that are important, but you will just have to watch as the show hilariousness takes itself into a special place in your heart. The show has a great back story that unravels itself around the end, but I don't want to bore all you readers with amazing detail. This show is also being scheduled for a second season. (YAY!) I highly recommend this show. This would appear to be the long awaited conclusion of my Seitokai No Ichizon-Student Councils Discretion review. Warning, continuous laughter may cause you to wet yourself

Hey fellow viewers ... I'm only on the 4th episode, but I haven't laughed so much since Black Butler.

This series unashamedly pokes holes in & fun at everything imaginable. You can't possible be offended unless you're terminally allergic to cute, sarcastic, perfectly timed comedy. If that's the case, you could literally die laughing or at least chuckling yourself into a coma.

Honestly It Was a Great Show

This show to me was awesome. The characters were hilarious and that was the biggest theme of this show. Comedy. This is mostly comedy and I love that. This show always made me laugh and not only was it for comedy but it had some serious moments to. Overall a good show.

I'm usually a huge fan of harems and eechi series because they're hilarious and always make my day. This one is always made me laugh through every minute and it is true though, a guy's dream at times is to be around with a bunch of attractive girls, especially in a student council? Oh, that just makes it even better! LOL. Overall, this series did not disappoint me as each character in the series ...

I came into this series looking for something fun and light hearted. I wasn't wrong. I was laughing so hard I was crying by the end of the first episode, and before I knew it, I had formed an attachment to each of the five primary characters.

While it came unexpectedly, there was a fair amount of character development. Ken receives the most of this. While initially appearing to be a pervert through and through, is an incredibly hard worker.

I heartily recommend this to any fan who wants to laugh until their sides hurt, cry at some of the sweetest moments in any story, and be brought back to laughing before you know it. I cannot express my love for this series enough.
