  • Loved The Anime!!!!!
Although I'm a Bit Late and the Anime Ended in March, I Just Finished Watching It and the storyline was extremely well thought out. The Suspense and mystery was portrayed well and I liked the fact that it expands over 25 or more years. Wish it was Longer though! >3<

One of my top 5 favorite anime!
What keeps this show from getting better reviews is its advertising, but I'm going to review it based on only the show itself.

I'll be honest, the first few episodes didn't exactly captivate me. Their purpose was to set the stage for the characters and their psychokinetic powers, which all people are now born with. BUT DO NOT LET THIS KEEP YOU FROM FINISHING THE SHOW. Around episode 3 or 4 the ...

    A strange perspective
From the new world is one of those series which requires you to watch until the end to grasp the extent of the plot. On an artistic level, it stands fairly well rounded, and while not particularly breathtaking, it conveys the story well. It has a great deal more depth of plot than the cover might indicate and is certainly not a title I would recommend for the younger viewers.

    Themes ...

    Brave New World vibes
If you've ever read the novel Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, and you've enjoyed it, I think you will enjoy the message in this anime as well.
Shin Sekai Yori was probably hugely influenced by that novel, regarding a new society structure and system.

There are three problems with this anime; first is the pacing and second is the characters.
The way they tell the story is way too slow, and ...

  • Very Pleasantly Surprised
This is a drama. There's essentially no comedy, and it works very well. Everything ties together and no time is wasted. There's not even an intro -- just a title flash as you are drawn directly into the story again. The story revolves around one character and her group of friends. Through them, the world is revealed as they learn about it. It's excellent writing.

No character is overplayed in ...

    Eerie and Unexpected
TL;DR: Creepy, be ready for some twists. Dark and mature themes. Inconsistency with the art style, but can usually be ignored.

Did you watch the first episode and go "meh"? Watch the second episode and said "ehhh..."? Yeah, me, too. For whatever reason, probably my insatiable curiosity, I stuck with it.
Shin Sekai Yori has a subtle seductive quality: you don't realize that you've been ...

    Really incredible anime! refreshingly different
This is one of the most amazing series I've watched in a long time, it's such a shame that some people gave up on it after the first few episodes. Stick with it, it gets so good! It's refreshingly unique and doesn't simply go with cliches. It's very dark and with many interesting turns, it wasn't at all what I expected. The ending was incredible and left me with chills, I would seriously recommend ...

  • Dark, Thought Provoking, and More than Meets the Eye
To pull off an anime that is dark and mature is not an easy thing to do and in many cases they do not deliver. Thankfully this isn't one of them. There is a lot to love about this anime. The setting is engrossing and makes you want to learn more about it. None of the characters necessarily feel fake and you cannot help but sympathize with them considering the burdens they carry along the way. The ...

  • One of, if not THE best anime to ever be created.
Words can hardly express the amount of satisfaction I have, now that I've finished From the New World. No anime has ever been an Epic to me, until I watched this. And by Epic, I mean something that is just so expertly written, so well executed in it's production, that it transcends the bounds of what I may have thought perfection was. Where most are good, even great, there is always been some ...
