  • Dark Dystopian ethical drama
What if we gave human beings huge magical powers -- any chance they'd screw it up?

Uh ... YEAH!! - Big Time. In order to survive, society must adjust over 1,000 years of history into new forms and practices. -- Okay, that about covers the first 2 minutes of the series.

Throw in a certain side effect that reaches a cusp at the time of this series, you have a nice ethical drama around ...

  • Beautiful , Stunning, Underscored
Shin sekai yori is a unique mixture of animes, abit slow moving. Personally in my opinion, Is only for insightful people. Slow scenes reveal secrets that somebody who doesn't have the intelligence power like insightful people do, Will be unable to fully understand the anime. Every scene- From start to near finish, Connects to eachother in a web of emotion. This underscored-anime needs to be seen ...

    Hmmm....not interested
I am 36 yrs old and prefer the mature anime. This one is just not cutting it with me. I was pulled in from the start and watched up until they became adults. Now that they are grown I'm just not into it. It's more of a power struggle between mole nations are something. Maybe it's were I haven't watched the last couple episodes. I don't feel progress. I'll come back to it if I get really bored.

  • This is definitely one the tops best shows I have seen on crunchyroll
This is my first review on this website and I just had to write one for this show. It is really good. However the marketing side doesn't really reflect what the show is truly about. If you like watching magical and suspense show then this is a fantastic choice. The whole show has a really nice story pace and plot that just keeps you on the edge of your seat. I gave it full marks for an unique, ...

    Couldn't recommend this any higher...
I was originally skeptical of it before I started watching, mainly due to the poster. In the beginning of the show it starts off as it's aimed at a younger audience, but I carried on. As you carry on the series (past 3) how wrong was I. This on going series is mind blowing.
If you've read the novel then you're gonna notice a few changes, but nevertheless, it's incredible.

  • Has to be my fav all time
This anime has its unique blend of tastes. I have been impressed at the first sight, when I heard Symphony No. 9, in E Minor echoing for kids going home. With the background of Chinese-painting hills and houses, silhouetted by the falling sun, the scene is simply beautiful, and one does not always have a chance to see such detailed/incredible planning in an anime. The show is very special. ...

"From the New World" creates a new world
I'd say one of the most satisfying things about this anime is that it sets up the rules for the world its going to work in, and then sticks by them relatively well. Most sci-fi anime build the world as the story goes along so that by the end of the series they are still adding rules about how the world the story takes place in. This show makes a number guidelines within the first few episodes, ...

Not for kids, A dark take on mankinds future
This show is a brilliantly written and beautifully portrayed story of a futuristic utopian society. In which every human can use 'power', a kind of telekinesis that is used in every day life and is considered a gift from spirits.

The story follows the lives of 5, 12yr old students and follows them through to adulthood, in the rural town of Kamisu 66, and the trials and dilemmas they face ...

Although incomplete right now, so far is one of the best shows I've ever seen.
For people who haven't seen any of this yet...
I would say the first episodes start off pretty slowly, with nothing actively going on to drag you into the story. Like in many shows, the beginning just kind of sets you up for the rest of the story. I think it's kind of like a snowball effect with this show. As you continue watching, the anxiety of what may happen next gets more and more intense. I ...
