  • young psychics learning about the world they live in
This story was not really what I expected when I started, but I mean that in a very good way. As stated in my review title, we follow a group of young kids from the future who are enrolled in a school for psychics. Similar to the characters at this age, we are naive about the actual conditions of the world they live in. As they grow, they slowly learn about this world that has somewhat been hidden ...

  • This Anime Will Be On Your Mind For Ages!
I watched this anime around two years ago, when it first came out. I have never forgotten it and it has stayed on my top five list since then.

The story follows a child grappling to understand and deal with her very flawed society through out her life. This anime deals heavily with morality and will seem slow to start for some, but the questions the first act of the show pose are important and ...

  • I Can't Find the Words
"This is the most amazing series I have seen so far." That was the feeling I got many times whilst watching Shin Sekai Yori - something about the setting, the mood, the characters and the plot just captivated me. The Town, for instance, was so peaceful and beautiful - yet seriously oppressive. The silence was unbearable at times, the whole town harboring so many secrets no one was willing ...

  • The most unique anime I have ever seen
The cover art really does not match the anime. It is dark and deeply intriguing. I've never seen anything like it before, anime or otherwise. The execution of the story is impeccable and it leaves no loose ends. It's one of those rare gems that even when I wasn't watching it, I still thought about it. It has that much of an impact. If you haven't seen it yet, you absolutely should.

    A Brilliantly Poignant Anime
Shin Sekai Yori (From the New World) is a wonderful anime.

The animation and atmosphere are both stunning, and the characters are moving. Some people might be put off by how slow the pacing is at times, but I loved how well it sets up the world.
This is a great anime that most people should consider watching, but be prepared to delve into the dark shadows of humanity if you do, as this is no ...

  • World Building and Ethical Quandaries Done Right
This is a dark show that deals with some heavy concepts that are well explored, though a watcher will need to read between the lines in a few situations. People who complain about plot holes aren't paying enough attention or remembering the one-off lines of dialogue buried throughout the show. It is a slow build show, but never loses any interest as new concepts and revelations are doled out ...

  • One of the best anime out there
If you like development, humor, emotion, and falling in love with the characters- this show is definitely one of the best out there!! Plot twists all throughout the season leading up to one of the best endings I've ever seen in an anime. Definitely one of my all time favorites. The development is truly one of the best I've seen too. Watching Saki grow up from a 12yr old girl to a 36yr old woman is ...

  • Much better than what I was Expecting
Im glad I came back to this series after dropping it from when it first came out. It was much better than I anticipated, and kicking myself for dropping it when I did. At first, it felt quite slow, and the art style wasn't my thing. Thank goodness for giving it time, cause I was really able to enjoy it this time around.

An Intense and Deeply Emotional Show
This is one of those shows I will never watch again. It is brutal, but also amazing. It many ways it reminded me of reading The Hunger Games (which I will also never do again). It is the kind of series you will keep thinking about for a long, long time.

Basically, it is dark science fiction set in a post-apocalyptic dystopian future. But that might sound cliche, and doesn't do the series ...

  • Absolutely Amazing series
This show is such a roller-coaster of emotions in such a fantastic way. Shinsekai-yori is such a breath of fresh-air in the sense that it is one of the most unique series I have ever had the pleasure of watching. Everything is beautifully executed and you never quite know what's going to come next.
