I watched 12 episodes because so many people said this was the Anime to watch.
I just don't get why people have said that.
    Good
~ It has a unique story
~ It has good voice acting
~ The animation style was good at the beginning
    ~ They weren't generic characters

~ I was bored most of the time
~ It keeps getting darker and darker and I feel like I will hate the ending since it is so dark ...

  • From the New World - Amazing
This story has so much meaning behind every little thing. There is so much darkness and sadness in each episode, yet you feel so much hope for each character. I love how much they grow and change through out the series. This is a mind blowing show and I recommend it for older individuals who can appreciate the deeper meanings. Its a story that will stick with you.

  • One of the Best things you will ever watch.
I just finished the series, and after watching hundreds of anime, I have to say this is one of the best ever. There are no words that can explain it, it has left me speechless. Artwork, music, but especially the STORY. Just.... watch it and you will understand.

  • Stick Through The First 8 Episodes
When you first begin watching this anime, you will be extremely confused and slightly uncomfortable, and around episode 4, you'll probably want to give up, having no logical grasp on what is happening. Stick through it. There is a reason for this.

The true masterpiece of this anime is that, much like with black and white films from the 20th century, you as a viewer are not omniscient, and in ...

  • A very provacative anime.
It was a very good anime. Tho is was also one of the most depressing anime I have watched. It was a mind f***. Something you have to set and think about after the show is over. So many topics are covered that in many ways are applicable to these days, not necessarily a 1000 years from now where it takes place.
You feel for these characters and their fates. Much like a lot of us had with Clannad ...

  • Incredible experience
I really, really loved this show and will likely watch it many times from now. I'm generally pretty picky with anime but I wanted to watch Shin Sekai Yori for a while because I had heard great things about it, and I was not disappointed. I love the world building elements of this story and the fact that it has such an expansive timeline. It is a very thought-provoking anime and the artwork is ...

  • Chilling and Mysterious
If you're looking for a prodigious psychological horror, go no further. This is it. What makes it dark isn't the exploding creatures (there's quite a bit of blood), it's the suspense you get trying to figure out what the heck the plot is about. Who is the real murderer in the series? What exactly is being justified in this series?
There are a few love scenes (guys kissing guys, girls kissing ...

  • Blew me away. Tragic and unexpected
I came into this show not really knowing what it was about; just picked it up on a whim. And let me tell you, this is one of the best shows I've ever seen. There's so much depth with the characters and its great to see them develop throughout the series. Would recommend it to anyone who's looking for a good mystery, supernatural themed anime. 5/5 from me.

    Absolutely Stunning Show
While it can be rather slow at times, especially in the beginning, this is one of the best-written shows I have ever seen. Everything ties together, and despite the emotional moments you have felt throughout the series, it feels realistic and complete. The finale tied everything together extremely well, and I'm tempted to re-watch it to pick up on the things I missed the first time ...

  • A Mature and Satisfying Story
This is is really what more Anime should aspire to be. It's a thoughtful tale that handles it's story in a mature way. It deals with heavy themes like Power, Control, Loss, Loneliness, and everything else that comes with growing up. To be truthful this story made me genuinely sad. Not sad in the way you get sad when Mufasa dies or Bambi's mother dies. Sad in a very deep way. It's a sadness ...
