  • A Mature and Satisfying Story
This is is really what more Anime should aspire to be. It's a thoughtful tale that handles it's story in a mature way. It deals with heavy themes like Power, Control, Loss, Loneliness, and everything else that comes with growing up. To be truthful this story made me genuinely sad. Not sad in the way you get sad when Mufasa dies or Bambi's mother dies. Sad in a very deep way. It's a sadness ...

  • Amazing show! If you're looking for a sci fi with deep socia and philosophical context, check it out!
Totally recommend it!!! I enjoyed this show from beginning to end. The first 2 episodes start a little slow but then it takes good pace and never stops until the end. Handles great story and character development as well as deep themes such as racism, eugenics.

    Sneakily Clever !!!!!
An anime that takes less credits than it actually deserves, percieved by many as sci-fi/ romance or as speculative/social science fiction. While the later is scratching the surface the first description is simply an insult to what it actually is.

A story that challenges morality and justice as it is commonly percieved. The symbolism is very strong and while the plot directly challenges the ...

  • It is a Masterpiece - One of the best shows I've ever seen
I just finished it and I absolutely think it is a masterpiece. One of the best anime I've ever seen. I didn't expect that before watching it. I thought it was a Harry-Porter-like story with a bunch of kids who wield magic and go through their magical adventure. But indeed, it's totally different. The elements in the story, the plot, society, values, sexuality are just mind boggling, yet ...

  • Wow, do yourself a favor and stick around...
I'm not very good at doing reviews or anything, but this is for anyone browsing reviews or comments before really deciding to start watching the show; do yourselves a favor and stick with it until sveral episodes deep. This was another one of those animes that I would just scroll past as I was looking for new shows to watch, I don't even know how long i've been skipping this one.

    I'm seriously ...

    Poorly Paced/Overrated
I must be the only person (judging by the reviews) who did not love this anime. I wanted to, it is beautifully animated and deals with a very unique vision of a dystopia.

Unfortunately this anime has severe pacing issues. It starts off slow, there is a moment where we begin to see something of the nature of the world... and then it oddly returns to a slice of life format. This show never ...

  • A borderline masterpiece
Honestly one of the best anime I've ever seen. Beautiful art, engaging plot, great characterization, awesome music--everything about this show is top-notch (except the animation in eps 4 and 7 but that's forgivable). It's a shame that this anime's so overlooked because it's so good! If I say anymore I'll end up spoiling it, just go watch this show already!
