    An intriguing and thought-provoking series
I'm giving the series a 4/5 for the time being, even though that's a bit unfair since it is incomplete.

Shin Sekai Yori is kind of hard to boil down into a back-of-the-box type description. It's near impossible to do so without some light spoilers. Shin Sekai Yori's set a thousand years in the post-apocalyptic future. A small percentage of humans developed psychokinetic powers around ...

  • Rollercoaster can only describe it...
Simply said, this anime is a roller coaster. It goes so very slowly in the beginning because in the novel, they are depicted as kids. A bit of a fore warning there will be a bit of a spoiler. The original novel had one main, and two sequels. It depicted the three stages of the children's lives. Child, teen, and adult. So, if you're the type of person that wants the anime to explain itself ...

  • Amazing!! best new anime so far
This anime is like crack, you'll re-watch episodes over and over again! Don't be fool by by cute happy looking kids on the cover, this is dark, mysterious, psychological, full of twist and turns, and just plain awesome. The animation is great and different. Give this a try and you'll see!

  • Interesting and Unique
I like the approach it has on espers and the scientific background it has. To be honest its alot more sci-ency than fantasy.

Its also dark and mature so I recommend people to read reviews before you watch it (this is for those that think its just gonna be another high school drama/romance). Well yeah, its not. And some scenes can be quite disturbing (and ill say no further)

    But I give it 4 ...

  • much darker than you would think, excellent!
This is excellent, i am on ep4 and after the first ep i was hooked, this anime is much darker than the description and picture lead you to believe, watching this i got a sense reminscent of ergo proxy which i ironically hated. You gotta watch at least 1 episode, i am so happy i didn't pass this up.

    im also really enjoying:
    -blast of tempest
    -magi
    -and naruto of course

  • Suprisingly Mature and Intellectual
This anime makes you think outside the box created by modern ethics and culture. The viewer is constantly bombarded with questions about this world and over time can begin to build a picture of what is truly going on. This is a fantastic anime that I almost discarded because the image and the description didn't provide enough information to convince me to watch it. If you're looking to watch a ...

  • This is such a great storyline, surpringly in-depth and serious
I absolutely love it. If you like futuristic, sci-fi, apocalyptic themes mixed in with magic (telekinese) and other interesting things, this is for you!!

You wouldn't tell from the cover, but this is truly a unique show who's story stands out amongst the sea of anime shows

  • Great anime, deep and involved
Unexpectedly one of the better anime's I've ever watched. This show follows a group of people throughout their lives, even into to their later years. Showing how the scenarios of one future could have social and moral impacts on people is a very interesting approach.

Shin Sekai Yori explores some things I'd been curious to see for a long time and puts their own style into it very nicely.

  • One of the best I've seen
I can honestly say that this is one of the most intriguing animes I've watched in a long time. The description and front cover really don't do it justice and don't provide all that much into what the anime is actually like.

A small spoiler where the anime is at now, episode 16, the characters are no longer teenagers but twenty-six years old. So as the anime goes on and they grow up, as they ...

    Amazing story and art
If you like mysterious, serious, realistic anime... this isn't your typical anime... there aren't any humorous instances.

    Story - 10/10

The story starts off slow, but the build up is worth it. The characters are very likable and realistic. This is an anime where you grow up with the characters through their lives.

    Art - 9/10

With the exception of a few episodes, the ...
