    Brilliant, well written, stylistically strong
Deep storyline, real and believable (and human) characters, strong emotional and philosophical themes mixed with a post-human setting. I found it extremely compelling graphically, as well. The style is simple but it's used in a meaningful way, and they do a lot of interesting things with colour and negative space.
The style and the story really help each other out, they're both sort of bleak and ...

One of my top 5 ever
Don't let the first few episodes fool you- this is no pre-teen romance anime. So many ideas explored here- by the end it will blow your mind. Questions about society/technology/control vs. freedom, etc. are all explored. To say more would be spoiling it!

This show needs to be watched!
A story about five children growing up in a pastoral dystopia with more than a few dark secrets. Over more than a decade the five deal, or fail to deal, with the hidden problems endemic to their society. It's surprisingly decent social science fiction, and this was definitely my favorite anime of fall/winter 2012/2013. You can tell it's not from just manga or a light novels.

    I gave it 5/5, ...

    Weak and Frustrating
Shin Sekai Yori. SPOILER ALERT.SPOILER ALERT.SPOILER ALERT.SPOILER ALERT.

Full of plot holes, weak character development and poor story line. Also, the writer adds love and romance only to mess with the viewers. All the characters have weak relationships with each other and some of them have absolutely no reason to be with each other, only to try to provoke emotion from the viewers. In fact, ...

    'Sobre o novo mundo"

"Eu não sei com que armas se lutará a Terceira Guerra Mundial, mas a Quarta será com paus e pedras". Albert Einstein

    - quase isso. "Shin Sekai Yori" começa contando a vida de 5 estudantes em uma cidade/colônia, onde pelos protagonistas é contado a história do mundo 1000 anos a partir dos dias de hoje.
O que seria 1000 anos a partir de hoje? O trama é baseado na repetição da ...

    An unexpected masterpiece.
Many people may be turned off by the Yaoi in a couple episodes, but if you watch it all the way through you would find a rich, engaging and unforgettable anime. The art and animation in this show is beautiful and works well with the theme, the plot is thought provoking, and it's characters each have unique traits that make them stand out. It may seem like a generic school drama at first glance; ...

Is slow at some points, but pulls through in the end
This series has beautiful art and animation but finds few opportunities to make use of it. There are multiple time skips and at some points the story almost comes to a full stop. The end was satisfying and overall it's one of the best series currently on crunchyroll.

    Shink Sekai Yori is amazing
Really, though, don't let the cover fool you. This is an intriguing story, with well-developed characters, and a plot that will keep you thirsting for more after every episode. It has a lot of dark themes as well as social/political commentary (some subtle, some not so much). Definitely a must see, and one of the best Animes of the season.

    Excellent Mirror Anime
Before I get to the meat of my review, let me get the basics out of the way. The animation is great, - especially the backgrounds. There is a lot of detail work here that pays off in a big way.

The character development is better than average. While the characters do change a little as they get older (This series jumps forward in time after each major event so the characters go from ...

If you like suspensful, sci-fi thrillers, you'll love this show, probably.
This show is masterful at bringing suspense. That was my impression every time I watched an episode. Some people complain that the pacing is slow, but for me, my friends, and some of the commentors, the episodes always ended too early. The world this story is set in is deep and wonderful in its own dark way. The moral and ethical dilemmas are fascinating to think about. That's what makes this show ...
