@Shan_Shinobi: It was a good message, right? But yea, if they took too long it would be the end of the series before she gained perfect pitch. Have to admit, they had to cut corners somehow and it worked out well. The scene was pretty cool.

I like the idea of an inspiring message but becoming good at music isn't as simple as that. She needs more practice than just hearing an inspirational speech and suddenly becoming pitch perfect. There should have been one flat note in that.

Re: saluting people who aren't officers, the military they're part of isn't any existing military, so it's not unreasonable to think that their regs regarding saluting are different. Or, y'know, the writers just didn't think about that.
