It's been a while since (or have I ever actually felt it before in an anime?) I actually felt how the elders relied upon the sparkles of youth rather than being told so by the show itself. Great episode.

I guess a religion formed from a combination of Shinto/Buddhism, Christianity, and maybe a bit of Hinduism, but some people remained Christians in the old sense.

Post-traumatic stress, survivors guilt, etc...didn't expect that in this thus far happy anime. Interesting. It seems like 12 episodes is going to be too short for this series watching it so far.

I would love to see an episode that flashbacks to set up how the war started and what happened. Looked very interesting, also the show is great.

I love that this show isn't just cute fluff (though there is a satisfying amount of that!) it doesn't hesitate to tackle tough subjects, even with the cover of these cute faces.

Obon festival huh? Just watched Kanamemo and they did the same thing, without the lanterns. I think its a good festival, much more touching then Halloween. Anyway, yea, Filicia has had it tough, but she is doing well it seems now. Still..

I think it is really selfish of her to cry when Felicia has lost her platoon and is worried over that. It is really selfish for her to start crying like that. Sure Felicia didn't mind but I'd feel really bothered and guilty by it.

Its pretty clear hat Filicia seems to be the only one who saw combat during the war and she seems to be suffering from some form of repressed PTSD. The poor girl I bet thats why she always seems happy shes bottling it up.

This sort of stuff really makes we worried about the future. This anime could be a serious drain on emotional stamina. Too many episodes back to back could be overwhelming, sometimes even disturbing.
