Relaxing, Thoughtful, Beautiful -- like a massage for your brain
Post-apocalyptic future, slice of life in the army, plus pseudo-Swiss alpine setting, really interesting back story that is slowly revealed and top-of-the-line beautiful backgrounds and high quality animation = Awesome.

    Moe Girls and Walking Tanks
Sora no Woto takes place in a future or alternate reality where humans were almost wiped out in a war against their fellow man. The technology of the pre-war humans was quite amazing, beginning to enter the territory some mech shows, while the current tech rests at its greatest level of about WWII-era, and pre-industrial at its worst.

The anime is set in a scenic European mountain village, ...

  • Blissful, a true delight to the senses!
The vibrancy of sound, story and lovely animation mix harmoniously in this fantastic tale that leads us on a journey of discovery of growing up, gaining friendships, and learning what the world is like - good and bad - for five maidens who defend a fort and town from the ravages of war... and time... in their own unique way. While holding to a military bend in some ways, the lovely ladies share ...

A brilliantly composed anime that doesn't have a categorical place
This series start's out slow, there's no denying that. And, under the guise of a "slice of life" type anime, it continues slowly, adding small bits of depth to the characters bit by bit, episode by episode. Kanata, Rio, Noel, Filicia, Kureha, even Claus, all get their time to shine in terms of character develpment, no one character feels particularly flat.

That out of the way, this show throws ...

  • One of my favorite anime!
This anime is very good. I wish that it had more back story and continued on and that they actually got to use the tank. for all that the characters and story were wonderful.
As a few other reviews have stated it's is like K-on's slice of life. defiantly give it a try.

    xxxxx Occult fantasy xxxxx
Soranowoto also called, Sound of the Sky, is a "slice of life" meets "monster fantasy" style anime that takes place during war. The "monster fantasy" idea has been captured in video games like Shadow of the Colossus, and on the anime Occult Academy recently. It's a very beautiful thing. This gives Sound of the Sky a mysterious ambiance.

Kanata the lead roll plays the trumpet! This ...

Soranowoto, a study of calculation and courage
Soranowoto follows five female soldiers defending a border city during both uneasy peace and conflict, and is very engaging as a slice-of-(specialized)life series. Beneath the surface, however, the series becomes a study in calculation and courage.

Every individual, as well as every organization, can be said to exist as a collection of secrets. The soldiers of the 1121st Platoon of ...

  • Soranowoto, something to remember.
Soranwoto, let me start by saying, it is one of the most innocent looking animes you'll ever come across. It might seem a bit cliche at first, but as you continue watching it, it is actually worth remembering. It might seem at first that the characters met at random but the characters had mysterious pasts that lend to them meeting.

I'm kind of confused as where it is set since the cities are in ...

The Sound of The Power of Anime
Soranowoto grabbed my attention back when I first seen the trailer. More specifically the backgrounds lured me in and the followings of the daily life of the girls of the 1121st platoon. Other parts were also those little bits of curiosity. Soranowoto is uncommon in the fact that it's an original story, and in this case, Aniplex with their Anime no Chikara or Power of Anime. To me, it's just ...
