  • good story stretched thin
I enjoyed the characters and story of this anime. But 99 episodes was far too long. It could have been more effectively told in half. It's in desperate need of work on the cutting room floor, or a fan edit if anyone was insane enough to try it. Some arcs can become very tiresome to watch because you're just waiting for something to happen that you know is coming. I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could, ...

  • realistic, honest, and awesome
A really heartwarming anime about a man, Nanba Mutta who seem to have all the bad luck since he was born on the day of the Doha tragedy (Football World Cup).

Since young, Mutta and his younger broter, Hibito, aspire to be astronauts. As the older one, Mutta vows to go into space before his younger brother. However, growing up, it seems Hibito managed to speed past him in achieving this ...

  • Greatest of all time
After 32 years (I am 37) of watching anime (first one being the original Mazinger Z and Captain Harlock) I got bored of anime since I started seeing everything as cookie cutter pieces of money grabbing publishing companies, until Namba Mutta showed me that he was on par with the Photonic Robot and the Space Pirate himself. What I am trying to say is, I'm 37 years old and this anime made me feel 5 ...

  • Best slice of life non comedy (still funny) anime
Space Brothers is about two brothers that love space (duh). The two of them face their own struggles on their adventures through the atmosphere. There really isn't much more I can say without spoiling anything. One thing I can say is it has the best pug ever.

  • Put This One Down in The Notebook in Your Heart
What an exceptionally solid story and characters. If you are interested in space, this may be the consummate show for the would-have-been-an-astronaut part of your past. I cannot recommend watching this show highly enough. We can only hope for more of this show being made in the future.

  • This is as good as it gets.
I was a student at a school that focused strictly on aerospace. Even though I went in with high hopes that it'd churn me out as an aerospace engineer, the school did the exact opposite. I came to a point where I was completely tired of aerospace as a whole, giving up any desire to touch back on the subject for around a two years post-graduation. Now that I no longer feel pure disdain towards the ...

  • Exactly what I was hoping for.
Leave it to anime to manage to have an unfinished/unresolved story even when they have 99 episodes to tell it and use a significant time jump in the end. Still, this was exactly what I was hoping to find in an anime during a break, with a surprising added bonus of being hilarious. It had likable, quality characters and an extremely entertaining premise. Even after all 99 episodes it felt like it ...

  • Best anime I've seen so far
I love this anime because there are no attractive girls or overly "attractive" young men as the main characters, they are all realistic and relatable. The jokes they make are funny most of the time and this anime is very inspirational and emotional. I love this anime so much, and I hope the next season will come soon!!! And this show actually makes you want to become an astronaut too

    Hilarious, yet educating and truthful
I have watched every episode of this anime, and while I'm sad it left a cliffhanger at the point it did, the storytelling is absolutely amazing.

In addition, throughout the plot, the protagonist and his brother in JAXA face many challenges that are dealt with in logical and realistic means, which goes to show that you can have a sci-fi anime, with funny scenes and moments, yet staying ...

  • !!This was Totally Awesome!!
Best anime ever. Loved how they equally shared spotlight with each brother. Character growth was seen and felt with each episode. It made me want more so I had to switch to the manga to find the ending. Completely inspirational and motivating. After watching this anime you feel like you can go out and accomplish your dreams :-).
