An incredible Slice of Life, OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD series yet really down-to-earth.
compare to other anime/manga, there is no magic, no superpowers, no extraordinary beings, no fight between good and evil, no villians, etc.

Just a realistic, slice of life series about 2 brothers aiming to become astronauts, their family, friends and loved ones around them and their fellow astronauts, all aiming for their goals and dreams. But the story and characters are very deep and ...

    Love this show so much.
This show can sometimes have a slow pace, but I think it has it's good comedy moments and a fair bit of dramatic tension. I would probably place this in the Top 5 animes here on crunchy roll. If you were on the fence on checking this out, please do. it is definitively worth it.

    A truly inspirational anime
This is my first review ever, and I felt compelled to write one just for its uniqueness. I have only gone through half of the episodes (40 episodes) and I have never watched an anime that inspired a feeling of unity in the human race. The ideas, theories, and childhood curiosity of space that I have long forgotten are brought back and actually makes me think of our history and future. This anime ...

    A awesome SPACE anime!!!!!
I have to say this anime is pretty different than what I'm used to seeing. Usually most anime have a main character(s) that is usually at high school age, if not younger. But in this one, the two main characters are full grown adults. One of the main character is an astronuant and the other one (who is his older brother) is trying to be an astronaut.

I really like how mature this anime. The ...

  • Anime for all of you space lovers
This is one of those anime that I wasn't sure I'd like but after the first episode I was completely hooked. It has excellent story telling which just makes you keep wanting more. It has probably made me feel almost every emotion from extremely happy to being in complete tears they just know how to evoke them. Kinda makes me wish I could go to space but due to my childhood asthma I doubt that'd ...

  • Simply one of the best anime series ever
As a fan of all genres, I have no real favorites or biases, but Space Brothers comes close to being perfect.

Some people may complain about the pacing, but it's part of the kind of story that it is. Some anime is a sprint, Space Brothers is a casual stroll down the winding path that is life. Despite not having supernatural elements nor clear cut villains, the show still manages to work in ...

  • Space Brothers: Suuu-goiii!!!
Space Brothers is one of the few anime that can pass off as amazing without violence or blood. No words can describe how amazing it is. It made my cry once XD with a great sense of humor and values. Rock on! -Redstreak202

Perhaps, the best anime series to show to a mature audience.
    (Review as of episode 74)

Space Brothers is an anime that I found any mature-minded audience can enjoy. Even if, they've never been a fan of any anime or any animated shows in their lifetime. Once they get rid out of their system that it's an anime, Space Brothers is a likely enjoyable experience.

Space Brothers is realistic, as expected of slice of life genre, in the way it approach the ...

It's rare to see anime from Seinen manga (comic for 20-30 years old). But pacing is very slow.
The biggest problem is that it progresses so slow. Pacing is horrible, and there are so many extremely boring episodes. They can easily edit and compress the 70 episodes to 20 episodes. Some episodes are very original and heart-warming, so it's a shame to get low rating due to bad episodes. Some episodes are complete rip off of October Sky.

    All about the story.
This show doesn't need flashy fight scenes or giant monsters to be intriguing and exciting (not that I don't like them too). The relationship between the brothers and their mentor is a great addition. You also find yourself rooting for Mutta and Hibito and actually getting emotionally invested in all the characters. Space brothers is also quite funny at times, especially Mutta and his parents. ...
