Trash....This needs a longer title so more trash I guess

I have watched a lot of anime. A LOT, and this is one of the only series I have disliked. That should tell you enough. It gets two stars though because monochrome is such a boss song. Beautiful animation but don't be fooled, the story is bland.

Star Driver A Romance with action

I have to say this Anime is a funny; yet romantic, its cute how this story goes, but its takes a while to get interesting and you have to be willing to wait to learn more about whats really going on. So If you don't mind a dragged of story then enjoy. i will be honest it took some time to finish this anime since i was watching more action pact anime :-p so i hope this helps.

An Overrated Story with Good Qualities

I understand the anime has had very favorable reviews. Having seen it all, I could understand why someone could end up really liking it. However, for me, the series ended up being a very overrated experience. Probably the series' biggest strengths are the characters and the fight sequences. Most of the characters are not too interesting, but they offer enough to avoid just being bland entities. ...

I understand the anime has had very favorable reviews. Having seen it all, I could understand why someone could end up really liking it. However, for me, the series ended up being a very overrated experience. Probably the series' biggest strengths are the characters and the fight sequences. Most of the characters are not too interesting, but they offer enough to avoid just being bland entities. The fights are fun and each one feels unique to avoid feeling repetitive. Having said that, there are considerable things that hurt the story. The overall plot, I respectfully say, feels rather trite and borderline idiotic. Even the bad guy by the end mocks his own organization. Plus by the time the story is done, relationships aren't really resolved and I found myself asking what was the point of everything? It really did pointless, if not almost. Also every girl falling for the main protagonist is always a negative in my book and drew me out of the experience. In total, its a decent anime with good points, but I wouldn't say its a really good anime, let alone a masterpiece.

An interesting series, good messages flow from each episode, though the animation can seen primitive at times - particularly with the continued use of the same animation during certain similar scenes. The music if fantastic, dialogue fresh and witty, and character interaction feeling more real than a lot of high-school drama or Gundam style anime genres. The main characters, in particular, hold many similarities to classic Authurian legends, but the storyline has some nice twists and turns to not be too predictable.

The leads aren't whiny little sissy babies? The bad guys aren't disproportionately strong!? The protagonist's mech is a 17th century British fop!?!?

'Not another school mecha'
So much parody.
More brilliant work from Studio BONES.

surprisingly good anime ;) you'll be glad you stuck with it

i thought this was going to be really cheesy
kid stuff
when lo' and behold
a plot a damn good one at that (yes there are a lot of repeated scenes)
but the whole ride kinda grabs you and doesn't let go
the end is a bit rushed and there should've been more closure to but it does end as it supposed too
i loved every minute of it
Now mind you the first couple of eps you might have to ...

Well, that was one heck of an anime.

Allow me to start of by saying that coming from someone who never liked mechame, Star Driver has got to be one of my all-time favorites.

First, the creator of the anime seriously knew what they were doing when they laid out the plot. The concept of Cybodies, Apprivoison, Shrine Maidens' seals, and Kiraboshi's mechanisms were all incredibly unique and perfectly thought out. Everything ...

Allow me to start of by saying that coming from someone who never liked mechame, Star Driver has got to be one of my all-time favorites.

First, the creator of the anime seriously knew what they were doing when they laid out the plot. The concept of Cybodies, Apprivoison, Shrine Maidens' seals, and Kiraboshi's mechanisms were all incredibly unique and perfectly thought out. Everything about this anime - from Cybody designs to mere character designs - is creative and unlike anything I've ever seen. On top of that, the animation is absolutely gorgeous. To be honest, I think the animation and scenery in Star Driver could easily top any of Studio Ghibli's movie graphics.

...although, I didn't quite like the fact that libido and romance was so closely weaved into everything.
Again, it's unique and creative (obviously); but if you're not the kind of person that doesn't mind keeping up with sexual or romantic relationships between characters, Star Driver definitely isn't for you. Oh, and especially not if you get torn over love triangles; the fact that Wako is constantly being tugged back and forth between Sugata and Takuto will really set you off if you get annoyed by episodes spent on canonizing relationships.

Overall, I'd say it's worth the watch. The unique concept, the amazing graphics, the satisfying ending...it's all fantastic. Can't wait for the movie~

Favorite of favorites.

This is one of my favorite of favorites! The hero is so dashing! SUGOI! Non-stop entertainment. I learned or re-learned a lot about people and myself while watching this anime. More down to business than romance in this anime, it's not a steamy one if that's what you're looking for. I would say it's more of an epic story of staying true ^_~

So I have been in a serious rut for the past few months looking for something new to watch. After browsing the library I stumbled upon this show. Star Driver is a fresh and fun show that I enjoyed greatly. The only problem I found lied with how extremely powerful the main character was compared to everyone else. I never really felt that Takuto, the main, was in danger until very close to the end. ...

Star Driver is a fresh and fun show that I enjoyed greatly. The only problem I found lied with how extremely powerful the main character was compared to everyone else. I never really felt that Takuto, the main, was in danger until very close to the end. I greatly enjoyed this show though and think it was well worth the watch for someone looking for a fresh mech fighter anime. Due to its awesome art and cool characters I highly recommend it.
