    Please don't watch this
Just a lazy, poorly written, poorly thought out, badly executed anime that has the appearance of a good anime. It's almost like a bad anime is wearing the skin of a good anime, it doesn't quite fit right and if you look closely you realize it's rotting and horrible underneath. It's great fun to laugh at though.

Not what it could be... Mediocre at best.
The premise is what drew all of the attention to the show. It seemed really cool and it delivered... for the first few episodes. The show made it apparent they weren't going to take any risk as they weaseled their way out of killing off a character we cared about. If a character was important, they wouldn't die. There was a character introduced at one point, but the intention of adding that new ...

    Had potential, lost it
Sword Art Online could have been great, but lost all of its potential due to its lack of character development and predictable story line. The more I watched the more agitated I got with the overpowered main character and the uncreative plot twists.

The first episode started off simple enough, giving you a view of the world of SAO before introducing the main conflict. Right away, things took a ...

    SAO is Complete crap!!!
*SPOILER ALERT* I had to mention the very weak plot that SAO did have to make my point, but if you read this it really doesn't ruin anything because if you watch it, you will still be shocked by how ludicrous the whole thing is and how it plays out.

    Sword Art Online, aka SAO
Okay, I'm gonna be a bit cheap here, but if you love this show enough to rant about its flawlessness, then I recommend you go to youtube and look up SAO Review. I can almost guarantee that the first few you find will be with negative or neutral, and most of the points given are valid. In other words, if you gush about SAO without knowing it's weaknesses, you're just embarrassing yourself.

    Then ...

Show much potential gone to waste
God this anime was good... for the first three episodes. The third episode "Red-Nosed Reindeer" was perfect and showed how good this anime could've been, but then it went to crap. Reki (the creator of SAO) for some reason decided that SAO shouldn't have great writing, great characters, or a good plot, and instead made it into a ROMANCE a f*cking ROMANCE with horrible ...

    A Emotional Experience
I found this anime one wouldn't expect, but it was a top 10 actually. Anyways, what really made me love the series was it's atmosphere, the fact that you're stuck in a game and can't escape is already pretty terrifying, but the fact that he's considered an enemy, and those he cares about/loves either die or go into depression, is absolutely heart breaking. Episode 3 is the episode that you show ...

not my cup of tea but it grew on me
Honestly, when I first watched this anime I was disappointed. I tuned out half way through the first episode and only grudging watched the second. Then, bored out of my skull, I came back to watch it several months later and it actually grew on me the more episodes I watched. There are still some aspects at which I cringe but I think I now understand better what the author was trying to convey.

Not worth your time if you are interested in anything more than fanservice and flashy fights
I only got 7 episodes in before dropping it.
The idea was great but almost every single character except maybe Asuna was just a waste. Especially Kirito, who seemed OP badass just for the hell of it, and despite being an utter loner and social wreck somehow almost every single girl he comes across likes him?

I don't know why this show is so popular despite its utter failings, plot ...

first season was great! The 2nd and 3rd were meh
I really enjoyed watching the first season, it had an interesting story with plenty of awesome characters. Then 2nd season started and just kind of started to betray the original image of certain characters from season 1, like a strong female character suddenly becomes a damsel in distress. it even had a pretty cliche antagonist. that ended up with a anti-climactic ending. season 3 i have not ...
