  • Confusing arcs but came together for a climatic ending!
In a Victoria-Steampunk type world, fossilized books of memories from those who died are kept safe at the Bantorra Library.

This series is twisted in back-stories and confusing plot lines. However, each arc stands as a brick and eventually start to build on top of one another creating one of the best told endings. Not to mention, there are some wicked action scenes!

As for the art, it is ...

"Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust"
When I first started on this anime, I was curious how it would turn out, since the trailer left a mixed impression on me and all I knew was the summary about how people would die and then turn into books. But thanks to its varied, some-what attractive characters, I was at least interested in what they're going to do. So hence, the first few episodes.

It starts off with the obvious protagonists ...

  • This Librarian will kick your astrisk.

You are an Armed Librarian. Granted amazing powers, you have been recruited to represent the Library of Bantorra--a sacred duty that generations of Librarians have been protecting long before you. You are mortal enemies with the Shindeki Church, who will do anything to undermine you—including hollowing out the memories of fellow human beings and implanting them with bombs to kill you and

A very unique and intricate story
Bottom Line: The Book of Bantorra is an incredibly unique and intricate story quite worthy of watching. This is one of the most original animes I have seen. Since the story is so intricate and detailed, it takes a few episodes to get into it. Do yourself a favor and give this show a three or four episode tryout.

The Book of Bantorra takes place in a fantasy world where people turn into books ...

    Good but confusing..
    I rather liked this show.
For one thing, it did a good job of exposition. The characters who were pivotal were given episodes to develop their backstory. Characters like Enlike end up mattering, so we need his story. However, this jumping from character to character posed a few problems: It
    1) makes it hard to remember what is going on.
    2) makes picking out the important pieces of information ...

    The history of a world.
I watched Hanamaru Youchien before this. I watched episodes 1-12 in one go, and the rest in another. I watched this without subtitles. I don't know about any other medias concerning this anime.

    My summary.
The records of a world in which humans dance in the palm of gods' hands, gods are entangled by destiny, and destiny is created by human will.

    Storyline 4
This is one of those animes ...

    Definitely worth watching
When I first started watching this series, I couldn't figure out what kept me watching it week after week. In the end, I've decided that I wanted to see how all of the seemingly unrelated events intertwined into one story. To be honest, I was expecting to be disappointed, but everything comes together so beautifully that I can't help but fully enjoy this series. Not until the final episode does ...

    Beautiful. Entertaining. Exciting.
Initially, after about 5 episodes I thought this anime was too weird and a waste of my time. But I stuck with it, and it surpassed my expectations.

    Characters!
Great development. I loved the depth of the character development: all of the characters were original and not at all cliché (as it seems like most series nowadays are). The characters changed and struggled and grew! ...

    The Book of Bantorra
How cool does the premise of dying, and becoming a book for others to read your story sound? It's something I haven't seen before, as such, this show was exciting to me. Although, the story on the ever-laughing witch seems somewhat pointless. I'm confused between which is the main story, and which is the side. Is shutting down the Church the main story, or is gathering the shards of the ...

This is my favorite of the new Fall 09' Line up!
This series really captures my attention! The animation is crisp and beautiful and it the plot development is really fascinating. I like how the lines between good and evil are blurred for the characters. There's one or two clear protagonists but whether or not you will lose faith in them is still up in the air. It also has beautiful music with striking cello solos and orchestral backup that ...
