    Too good to be true...
This anime had the best first episode I have ever seen. I just sat there salivating, thinking I had stumbled upon the best anime in the world as the ending credits rolled, I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be giving this series such a lukewarm rating once it had concluded. I arrived at this rating however because while it began by giving us a brief glimpse into a special and ...

Could have been very good, but good afterall
The concept and theme are different and interesting - books, written under unusual circumstances by extraordinary people, can contain knowledge and tap into powers that are beyond the abilities of most to withstand, never mind control. The show's main protagonist include Hugh Anthony Disward, a very capable veteran of The Great War, and Dalian, who appears to be a ordinary, though attractive, ...

Enjoyable and I love it, but lacking.
I loved this anime, it's actually my favorite. What made me sad was all the build up and the budget was obviously low seeing as they never did anything with the random characters they would have show up and intend to make a main antagonist or another protagonist. Overall I feel they underdeveloped it and when it ended I couldn't help but feel like there was so much they didn't pick up on and grow, ...

    A Powerful and Unique anime
I happened upon this anime just recently while searching for something new and was quite pleased. As many other reviews have stated, the art, music, atmosphere, and character are all superb. The episodes are all one offs mostly, with very little tying them together aside from the first and last few episodes. The intro and outro are very beautiful. I need to go back and check the singers ...

    Brilliant and Highly Underrated.
Dantalian no Shoka took me completely by surprise and warrants an earnest try by everyone who claims to like anime. The characters mesh well together, the dialogue is filled with wit and charm, the animation is gorgeous, and the sounds(music and all) are simply amazing. Some episodes make you laugh and feel mortified at the same time while others are simply fun adventures. What makes this series ...

Not the Best Anime in the World
WARNING: If you decide to watch this, watch Gosick FIRST.
I only watched the first episode and it already bored me. I'm sorry, but this anime is way too similar to Gosick, BUT does not have all the elements. There is no inner plot. Gosick had Victorique's background as a "Gray wolf (Forgive me if I'm wrong, it's been a while)," this was just disappointing. Each episode had its own plot. The ...

It was good but definitely ....had problems
I don't need to reiterate everything, like what the anime is about (People have already done that). I adored the characters. Even from the start, you know Huey and Dalian are going to be interesting. The rest, people are thrown at you. My bone to pick with this anime was the direction was a mess. I think it would've been more interesting if random people didn't know about the Phantom ...

    Otherwise great But..
Great concept, great characters and animation. The music was in fact superb. IMHO, the major and decisive flaw of this anime was the storyline. There were probably no more than 4 episodes related to the main storyline of bibliothecas, biblioprincesses, libricide officers and Huye's past. And in the end there was no closure at all. Hopefully more people would make a difference between a storyline ...

Fairly good but not good enuf!
I qutite like the concept of this anime, but It has and annoying chilidish humor which started out cute, but as I had said is annoying. For this reason if it were to continue going from a serious tone to an overly active humor I will have an epileptic attack. I like this story and it has great potential, so far the scheme isn't hooking me or holding up to this potential it has. I guess there is a ...
