  • Brilliant and Highly Underrated.
Dantalian no Shoka took me completely by surprise and warrants an earnest try by everyone who claims to like anime. The characters mesh well together, the dialogue is filled with wit and charm, the animation is gorgeous, and the sounds(music and all) are simply amazing. Some episodes make you laugh and feel mortified at the same time while others are simply fun adventures. What makes this series ...

  • I was sad when I finished it
I quite liked this series. It caught me by surprise. It starts out a bit with the "Power Rangers" formula, but soon breaks pattern and becomes something more original. The animation is quite pretty, and the plot soon picks up and starts to lead somewhere. I enjoyed it, but felt it was cut off a bit abruptly. Still, I recommend it.

  • Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover
I decided to watch the anime purely cause the artwork caught my interest. However, watching the first episode got me hooked onto the show. It has a strange twist of events every episode that sometimes caught me off guard. You fall in love with the characters and the books. The ending made me lingering for more and made me search up the manga. I really recommend this to people who like mystery and ...

  • A Finely Crafted Treasure Hunt
This well-drawn and written series pulls in the watcher, in the same way that a good book does. Lovely Victorian backdrop frames each tale, while the dialogue - though sometimes sharp and shocking - guides the viewer as easily as one envisions in their mind word read on a page. With intriguing and charming characters, the watcher is lead through a maze of quests following Huey Disward and Dalian ...

So many books, so few episodes...
This anime is an intriguing and charming experience waiting for you to watch. The characters have nice personalities and nothing feels cliche or archetypical. While this anime was very pleasant while it lasted, it has some plot issues that left me unfulfilled at the end. First off, the episodes themselves are sparsely correlated and differ to the point where the entire anime feels like an OVA ...

Not the Best Anime in the World
WARNING: If you decide to watch this, watch Gosick FIRST.
I only watched the first episode and it already bored me. I'm sorry, but this anime is way too similar to Gosick, BUT does not have all the elements. There is no inner plot. Gosick had Victorique's background as a "Gray wolf (Forgive me if I'm wrong, it's been a while)," this was just disappointing. Each episode had its own plot. The ...

  • Defninitely worth the watch. A nice plot, and a really cool setting.
I've watched this anime before on a different site, it's a really good anime. The setting of the anime made it for me; it's really interesting and good.
The plot of this anime has a very interesting idea, yet it is a bit confusing because none of the episodes seem to really connect to each other except some of the characters and histories.
The art is good and the characters are very likable and ...

  • A Must-Watch for Bibliophiles
As someone who has always loved books, and who is currently applying to library school (and who works in a library), I was immediately intrigued by the premise of this anime. The idea of lost or sealed libraries, like the idea of books that contain knowledge that is dangerous to those without certain skills/abilities, is not new, but this anime represents those concepts in its own way, so that it ...

    A Twist on Warehouse 13
    OK,

So it's a rather broad analogy, but not too far off. They collect/destroy supernatural books (artifacts) that should not be used by the common man. The character chemistry with the main characters, as well as the minor characters, is great; good pacing considering the storytelling they try to cram in a half hour episode; good animation. Wish there were more of these type of story-lines and ...
