after watching the first 5 mins i feel in love with it. the opening of the anime simply fits it ...

    Great Great Series!!
The Mystic Archives of Dantalian is a very interesting anime I had a great time watching it back in March here on Crunchyroll. I thoroughly enjoyed the theme and the ideas in the series I recommend watching it if you like short but sweet animes......

    I have mixed feelings
I found that the stories really didn't follow a set plot, like Mushi-shi, and were specifically linked to the individual phantom books wreaking havoc in each episode. I felt that there were some loose ends that were never tied up, and yet, I ended up enjoying the last episode immensely.

    Nice setting, but poor storyline
The protagonist Huey, is a pilot from WW1. His grandfather has just passed away and Huey inherited a big house. The house contains a great number of books and our other protagonist Dalian. She appears to be some kind of living library and contains the so called Phantom books. The anime revolves around these myserious books which seems to appear from time to time and often with destruction and ...

    More Silly Mumbo Jumbo
Anime is amazing....potentially. Some of it is rooted in the realities of human nature and the gross working of the world, such as the works of Miazaki, and "Welcome to the NHK". Some of it is mindless moe-based fun. And some of it is stuff like this. When a writer sets out to create a magical world, the temptation he feels to say to himself, "All limits are off. I can make anything happen ...

So many books, so few episodes...
This anime is an intriguing and charming experience waiting for you to watch. The characters have nice personalities and nothing feels cliche or archetypical. While this anime was very pleasant while it lasted, it has some plot issues that left me unfulfilled at the end. First off, the episodes themselves are sparsely correlated and differ to the point where the entire anime feels like an OVA ...

    A Twist on Warehouse 13
    OK,

So it's a rather broad analogy, but not too far off. They collect/destroy supernatural books (artifacts) that should not be used by the common man. The character chemistry with the main characters, as well as the minor characters, is great; good pacing considering the storytelling they try to cram in a half hour episode; good animation. Wish there were more of these type of story-lines and ...

    Charmed and intrigued
This series was charming, in both senses of the word; delightful and full of magic. As other reviews have pointed out, it has many flaws, but they didn't detract from my enjoyment of the show, so I've chosen to focus on why I recommend it. The hero is strong but refreshingly gentle, world-weary but not yet cynical. The heroine is a classic contrast of childish and ancient, in the way only things ...

So much potential, but falls short.
Dantalion no Shoka, or the Mystic Archives of Dantalian has a brilliant concept: The power of the written word. Many people were iffy on this show, seeing how it was released the same week that Gosick has finished airing, and they had similiar concepts. Mainly tsundere loli-detectives.

    Story: 6/10
This is an episodic anime, so I can't judge the story as a whole. The idea of Phanton Books ...

Good series, but we only scratched the surface.
Huey and Dalian are very interesting characters, and I liked them from the beginning. But there was so much material left untouched here but hinted at, I was left wondering what I missed - it was very clear this was an adaptation. Additionally, each episode is high paced, and new characters and scenarios are introduced and developed that the viewer is given little time to digest it all.

    The ...
