The Pet Girl of Sakurasou

This series is very simalir to many other series. One thing that makesthis anime stand out more then others is that almost every episode feels like the last or second to episode which makes you wanna watch it even more. Unlike most shonen jump series that go on forever and almost never have the pull in that anime like this have. If you want to watch some good drama and heart clinging scenes definately check this series out! Oh and also this is not a harem it has realistic nudity and stuff like that so yeah check this amazing awesome series out!

I had my doubts when I first started watching this series. When I saw the title, "The Pet Girl of Sakurasou," I almost disregarded the series as garbage.

I'm glad I didn't.

The characters in this story are incredibly diverse, and I love each and every one of them. Furthermore, the plot was deeper—much deeper— than I expected. Many times the characters (Sorata, Nanami) failed when in a more cliché shonen anime, they would have succeeded. The romance is also well-thought-out, and doesn't reflect the harem-love-polygons prevalent in mainstream shonen. While there is certainly a degree of fan service in the anime, the nature of the anime is innocent and fun. Overall, watching this anime has been a great joy, and I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, upbeat anime filled with life lessons.

This series follows Kanda as he is kicked out of the normal dorms because he refuses to get rid of his cats...yeah, cats. He is then forced to move to "Sakura Hall" , the place the school sends their "problem" students.

Characters:
Right from the get-go you get the idea that everybody in "Sakura Hall" is a total weirdo. For some reason everybody there had been kicked out of the regular dorms, and you can immediately see why. The character set of this show is allot different from other slice of life shows out there, but i think that's actually a good thing really...

Story:
Almost non-existent, no antagonist, no real purpose throughout the whole series. Wait...am i really picking apart the story of a slice-of-life? Silly me...

Even though there is no clear path this show takes, it still kept me watching because it succeeded in doing what most other slice-of-life shows could not. And that was that it actually make me care. Despite lack of plot there was still allot of other elements incorporated that basically acted as a cushion for the lack of plot. Internal struggle, characters not getting along, secretly hating another person and not knowing it... etc... And that's the kinda stuff we all like to watch, conflict. Also one of the BIG focuses here was romance, and sorry to tell you all but romance doesn't really strike a note with me here. Don't think i'm heartless now, i do enjoy romance just i didn't like how it was done here, that is all.

Animation/Artsyles:
The animation and artwork were tolerable. I cant see anybody having an issue with this really.

Overall enjoyment:
Because that's what it comes down to really. How much did you enjoy it? Well... it was entertaining, but... I didn't really find myself in agony waiting for the episodes to come out. So overall i think this show gets about a 3.7 / 5 stars. Reviewed by HG

That was a beautiful sad but happy end T^T There is something in my eye right now but I would like to say to the creators, writers & all the staff to please make another season. This was a really great anime & I have learned a lot from it. Education, the arts, friendship, love, family, happiness, sadness, beliefs, working hard, having fun, laughing, crying, togetherness and so much more…All of this from this show. I think a lot of people have come to appreciate this anime. It would be really AWESOME if you made another season & more like this one. Thank you...ARIGATOU!!! IPAI IPAI!!! I do not often recommend a Series. I know my emotional response is not like everyone else's. This Series is probably one of the best I have ever seen. It's right up there with Toradora and Eureka Seven. What I thought was going to be a love triangle, ecchi, light romp turned out to be a heart wrenching, tear jerking, and emotionally wringing, treasure trove of episodes. Some of the Episodes take you up like a Rocket, while other episodes leave you an emotional wreck. Love Triangles, unrequited love, Spring of Youth, growing with emotional boundaries, friendship, it's all in this Series. It's well written. The art style is pleasing, and the voice actor work fits the characters very well, and makes them very full and believable. Do not miss this Series. It is worth the investment of your time.

I can easily say this is the best anime I've ever watched. I can't even properly express in words the emotions that this series gives me.
From the first episode someone might expect it to be just another run-of-the-mill ecchi/comedy series with typical anime clichés and nothing more than that, but it definitely is more than that. It is one of a kind and this show put me through an emotional roller coaster. Together the residents of Sakura hall face situations that are very true to me and many others may feel this as well.
The characters are very realistic with seemingly very real feelings. Some of the moments were heart-wrenching, as we've all felt the feeling of trying so hard only to face failure in the end.
The scenes later in the show between Shiina and Kanda literally made my heart heavy and as if I was in the show with them; right there experiencing the moments. Shiina may initially seem like an emotionless robot with no depth, just another typical, calm, and quiet girl who doesn't express much, but throughout the show you realize as a character she has real feelings too and is able to open up and convey them. It is some of the best character development I've ever experienced.
Now I am writing too much and I sound like a blubbering idiot (this show gives me blubbering emotions) but watching The Pet Girl of Sakurasou will leave me as a blubbering idiot when the last episode is released a few days from now. I genuinely hope there will be a second season, and I hope to look forward to an english release of the light novels and/or manga. I would learn japanese just to be able to read them.
(Ehehe If it isn't obvious yet I am rooting for Shiina and Kanda to get together and this pairing is neck and neck against my anime OTP Asuna and Kirito from SAO and my videogame OTP Skyward Sword Link and Zelda.)
In the end, I love this anime as much as anything can be loved and will probably stay my favourite series for a long time, if not forever. 5/5 Highly recommended, if you don't like it at first give it a go anyway, you'll most likely be hooked within the first three episodes. I still can't fathom the amount of love I feel towards this series. It turned out to be something more than amazing.

I started watching this show just to try it and I liked the artwork. Turns out it is a lot more than just a pretty picture and something that popped up when I looked up comedy/romance. This show is great. The characters are very well put together and are all very unique. The story progression was well paced and kept me attached. This will definitely be going in my top 5 anime of all time list.
