A supers show that is animated, not anime.
If you are expecting anime, this isn't it. But as a supers show it has promise.

Highlights: Great art aesthetic, animation and direction need work. Excellent sound effects and nice BGM choices though light on BGM content. Slow story start and cliched characters but underlying premise shows promise. Designed for American audiences.

An interesting mix of Japanese anime and US animation with the concept by Stan Lee and the director and co-creator by Hiroshi Nagahama, one of the directors of Mushishi.
The Reflection Incident occurred 3 years ago causing some people to show superpowers. This episode shows a battle between evil and good superheroes. The drawing style is more similar to comic books and is simple but effective 5/5. The animation is jerky at points and the movements simplified to the point it interferes with watch-ability 2/5. The story is written like a comic book and is good ...

The anime with a new direction to everything
Although this isn't perfect, I have seen worse. This is an anime co-produced and created by Stan Lee the founder of Marvel Comics, animated flicks such as The Condor, an anime such as Heroman.

Overall, I liked it, although the plot does not seem to be straight forward with itself, The Reflection gives enough to be wanting more. The art direction, meant to resemble western comics in contrast ...

    Stiff animation, boring writing
Some of the animation is like something you'd put on a t-shirt, its beautiful and artistic.... until it starts to move, then it just feels clunky and stiff, it doesn't really flow well. The writing is kinda crap too, at the end of the first episode the villains just tell you who they are why they exist, and why they don't like the hero's. This is something that should be discovered by the audience ...

Its Different, but who says that is bad.
It was kinda like watching a comic book. Best way for me to describe it. The audio at time really made what was going on feel impactful to me. If you like superhero comics/anime/or anything such of the sort, give the first episode a try and see how you like it. Different, but I enjoyed the first episode so we will see.

    Something New, Something Different.
American Comic Style combined with Japanese anime. With so many anime coming out with the same template over and over again. This anime seems to be a breath of fresh air.Being a fan of American Comics and Japanese Manga I have extremely high hopes for this anime, hopefully it doesn't disappoint and if it is good I hope it doesn't go unnoticed.

The Reflection takes the style of contemporary comics and applies it in a style reminiscent of 2001 a space odyssey
Don't be fooled by the negative reviews the reflection is beautiful, however it is artistic in nature and if that's not your style this might not be for you. The most common complaint I've seen with this series is that its too slow paced. don't give a series one star if you don't agree with artistic choices like this. Its done purposefully in a Kubrick like style and it embraces it as well as its ...

A solid start and potential abounds
Though it is too early to know for sure, this seems to have potential. (Getting this out first, obviously people have their own tastes and some won't be able to like the art)

Watching it is reminiscent of reading a comic and watching it play out in your head, when your mind fills in the gaps between the panels without having to see every panel transition animated. The plainness, for lack of a ...

    First impressions of "The Reflection"
So first let me start with getting all the negativity out, because I know that's probably the first thing most people want to complain about. Yes the animation is a little clanky or stiff at times and audio could be better. That being said it isn't that a bad series.

This isn't your common anime, in fact, you should approach it as a comic being adapted with anime undertones instead of a ...

Good story, but not the kind of anime you expect, judge accordingly.
So this isn't really your typical anime (or maybe not anime at all, depending on the definition). No demon lord or contrived premise, no power of friendship, or a thick headed protagonist in sight. This is like boku no hero, the east's take on the western super hero genre. However unlike boku no hero, it doesn't go about things in the form of a shonen, and the art is a minimalist style. The art ...
