  • Time of Eve reminds me of Blade Runner
If you know Blade Runner then you probably know my age. Do Androids dream of Electric Sheep? was the original story that movie was based on. Basically the movie was about good and bad androids, which are very much like men, who simply want to live.

Do androids think and have feelings? If so, who programmed them that way? If nobody programmed that kind of stuff, how did they acquire them? ...

Ghost in the Shell x Slice of Life.
Rewatched this recently and was still impressed. It takes the popular Sci-Fi concept of Androids and brings it down to earth in a Slice of Life scenario. This is why I say it's Ghost in the Shell meets Slice of Life. Each episode touches on a different subject in a casual but fruitful way revolving around the androids of course. Story and Characters are on point in terms of the overall package. To ...

    Needed something more.
In my opinion, this show throws around a fair few interesting themes. however, if you are going to watch something like this it is probably a much better idea to watch/read a true masterpiece such as blade runner. Blade runner captures in a most beautiful way all the things this anime is dealing with. it just was like a shitty version of it for me. it didn't really have anything that went "this is ...

  • Absolutely Fantastic!!
Even though it's just 6 episodes (and I seriously, SERIOUSLY, hope for more!) the story and character development were absolutely incredible! It really makes you think about those moral boundaries and what really digs home the question, "What do you think about me?" It was absolutely fantastic, I can't stress this enough! I really do hope they make more to this because I want to see what happens ...

Creativity and direction get 5 stars!! But...
This series was fantastic!!! I loved the characters and how subtle the story unfolds. They didn't feel the need to come right out and explain everything to you, there is no hand-holding, but you get to really know the characters and care about them. The art and direction is top notch and the music is nice. Some of the ending themes remind me of the sims, which was somewhat fitting for the ...

  • 1 in far too few amazing animes.
Time of eve is indeed a specific orianted anime, about some of the most important topics in the world - Discrimination, and prejudice. I have to be honest i wasn't exactly exited coming into this, i have watched A LOT of anime over the years but i almost always judge an anime by it's summary which is a lazy and often incorrect way of judging whether an anime is good, anyway...

    This anime is i ...

  • Anime as fine art: It doesn't get any better than this
If you are a fan of serious cinema, of art, or anime, you will find this short series entrancing, intriguing, a river of prescient social fiction with infinite, inevitable, wisdom lurking in its ultimate depths. I love action anime, it's true, but, once in a great long while, I come across an artwork that reaches out to mold my soul, like sentient
Play-Doh, into a new, exquisite, shape. Watch ...

  • Powerful masterpiece: Some thoughts on Time of Eve
I will (break the rule a little bit and) say that I agree with rwaller's review down there somewhere that Time of Eve wrinkles Isaac Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics in ways that I have never seen anywhere, not that I read or watch a lot of sci-fi on artificial intelligence. It does not change my opinion that those there laws just suck though (especially #2). But I am also fully aware that we ...

  • By far one of the best series I've watched in a while
In a society where humans are becoming more and more dependent on androids, there becomes two different "types" of humans: the ones that treat their android like machines and the ones that treat their android like human beings. This series focuses on a cafe where androids and humans are equal, causing the protagonist Rikuo (and the viewer) to change his perspective on how he sees the interactions ...

  • An Interesting Ethical Question Explored Masterfully
What are the ethics behind the use of Androids? What would the interactions between sentient robots and humans look like? These questions and more are explored in this show along with many others. Gripping, emotional and though provoking; this show has it all! A must see for everyone.
