Time of Eve: Rise of the Little Robotic Giant
In September 2008, a small, relatively unknown production company by the name of Directions struck an agreement with Crunchyroll to air Yasuhiro Yoshiura’s next animated piece: イヴの時間 (Time of Eve). The weather was auspiciously cool for that mid September day, ...

    Would you want a robot?
I always imagined having a robot sometime in the future who could cook and clean for me and Time of Eve makes this seem possible. I no longer would need to worry about the lack of time to cook because the robot could take care of that. I never imagined that a robot could be so human-like (though I also saw this at the World Expo in Aichi, Japan a few years ago). And imagine if this cafe actually ...

A Little Gem of a Series
(Please note: This review contains spoilers regarding the overall theme of the show.)

This is a little gem of a series. I've only watched four episodes (that's all that's been released to date), but feel compelled to say something about it.

As others have said, this theme of "can robots be human?" has been explored in many anime and manga (and books and movies). What sets this one apart ...

Breathtakingly beautiful and makes you think about what defines humanitiy!
Wow what an amazing series. It's not only breathtaking but the plot truly makes one of the best sci-fi reads I've been privileged too. Even when this anime is over, I hope it is made into novels. The depth of the characters is great!

  • Time of Eve is very good!
I really like this show, its cute and serious at the same time and good character development. The episodes are only 15 mins long which helps break up some of the slowness to not seem so long. The story between androids and humans are quite interesting. I like learning about the android's story and how they feel about things. I would recommended it to others.

  • Interesting and Entertaining
    This is a perfect show.
Each episode focuses on a character, so that you can see real development, which causes you to relate to them. If the story makes me relate to a non-human, it must be engaging.

It also asks for the participation of the audience. Who do I think is an android, who is human. Does this even matter, should I see them as interchangeable.
Just like Blade runner, the story ...

  • Great Anime, can't wait for me
This is a excellent anime. The storyline has a good pace to it and the characters feel rich and believable. How it explores the real connection between the characters is great, no rush to it. I am really looking forward to where this is going and I don't think I'll be disappointed.

  • Superb in nearly every way
After having watched up through ep 5 I really can't wait for the last episode to be released, but at the same time I don't want it to end.

This anime has basically everything that makes up a great anime, including excellent plot and characters. Even the animation and music are beyond good--it's hard to find shows that contain such a full package.

I really like the way this show makes you ...

    Best Science Fiction since Planetes
Time of Eve is a rather peculiar show to review. For one thing, it is only six episodes long, clocking in at around 15 to 20 minutes each, but the finale extends for about 30 minutes. Usually, short anime are not able to properly convey the right combination of character development, plot, and conflict.

Time of Eve, however, does all that and more. I must say that it is probably the best ...
