A small masterpiece of epic proportions
I recently stumbled upon this gem by pure coincidence. The ad for the final episode appeared on CR's front page and the art style alone forced me to look into it.
It turns out the art style isn't the only thing which makes "Time of Eve" worth watching. Rarely does an anime achieve such well imagined characters over 20+ episodes, never mind 6. The transformation of Masaki in particular is a joy to ...

    Asimov is resting peacefully
Extrapolating on Asimov's rules of robotics and what they would mean for modern society, this series posits the everyday life and interactions between man and machine. I enjoyed, immensely, the interplay between characters human and non-human alike. I think it really challenged the viewing audience to speculate whether kindness and decency towards man made things is completely out of order, ...

This shall be a classic Anime for the ages...
While I hesitate to compare "Time of Eve" with any other giants of Anime, [for me if someone compares a book to Tolkein's or Frank Herbert's LoTR or Dune, that is a kiss of death for me, as that is like setting someone up for disappointment from the start], this will stand out as both an excellently written and entirely plausible sci-fi series, and an excellent future-psychological study of what ...

I had never seen a anime so well put together till i watched this. I watched this once and couldn't stop thinking about it. This really pinged the sci fi drama bar. I love it.

  • Fans of Asimov rejoice.
Being a fan of Asimov I was immediately engrossed in the storyline. Exceptional use of computer animation techniques and great music to fit the mood of this series.

The main character comes off as timid and introvert. Possibly to appeal to the target audience, the otaku.
At first glance I though that this series may not be for me, but throughout viewing it I realised there was so much ...

  • Are you enjoying the Time of Eve?
Time of Eve is set in a future where androids have come into use as household helpers. These androids carry out their masters' commands as long as these commands don't violate the 3 basic rules that form the limits of their behavior. (Think of Asimov's 3 laws from I-Robot.) High school student, Masaki, and friend Rikuo find the Time of Eve cafe after checking the movement logs on Masaki's ...
