I do not know any other medias concerning this anime. I watched Sketchbook ~full color's~ a day before this. I watched this anime in one go, without subtitles. It may be my first time I give out a perfect rate for all fields of criticism (not just on crunchyroll, but throughout my entire anime history).

My summary.
A high-sense animation project that pokes at some questions concerning robotic ethics.
Storyline. 5
Each episode is a character-oriented story that brings up a different ethical question to the viewer's attention. In addition, there are several mainstream plots that run through the entire series. What I like most about this is that none of the questions are directly answered. The staff is not aggressively expressing their answer to any of these ethical questions. They are merely bringing up various edges concerning the direction the question can be taken. This anime certainly leaves a cliffhanger, but even if a second season wasn't to be created, I don't believe the mainstream plot needs to be resolved. This anime retains its uniqueness in that it doesn't resort to any long-term dramatic plot. The mainstream plot is not as significant as the given questions proposed otherwise.
Music. 5
The BGM, the "OP," and the ED are fitting and nice, yes, but that's not the reason why I gave this a 5. The use of sound in general, as a part of the editing for expressive purposes was phenomenal. It is very hard to describe "sense" in terms of a style or characteristic in words, but the entry of sound effects, the gap between dialogues, the use of silence... it all had perfect harmony with the animation. Describing a given sense in verbatim tends to ruin the sense in question, so I say watch the anime.
Characters. 5
As stated before, each episode is a character-oriented story, as supported by the title of each episode. There is no moe in this anime. Each character's distinction is exemplified by a different relation to the existence of androids in society. This distinction leads to the question of the episode, which makes the greater half of the story. There is a main character that grows and changes throughout the series as well, as he learns to deal with these given question by associating himself with these other characters.
Animation. 5+
The sense, the sense, the sense. The visual expression, the audio expression, the harmony between them. It's perfect. When it comes to most animes, I'm more concerned about the consistency than the actual style of animation (except perhaps SHAFT and a few other notable styles), meaning I don't really evaluate much more than the general motion quality, the stop-motion structure of moving objects, and the background detail, because the animation style doesn't stand out. However, this anime's style is what makes this anime a magnificent piece of motion pictures. The effects, the framing, the positioning... it all comes from this staff's sense of expression. The objects and people in the anime are certainly well drawn, but that's really supposed to be a given quality for any anime. It's about how those objects and people are used in animation that gives the animation value. This anime has a quintessential sense of animation which gives this anime a quintessential value, unlike any other animes I've seen to date. As I stated before, describing sense in verbatim ruins it, so I will refrain from doing so. It is important that this uniqueness is felt by the viewers of this wonderful anime.
Overall 5
Perhaps the best anime I've seen. In addition, it's an original anime, from which other media like manga and movies have been created. I hear that the production time for this anime was quite long, but quality is the true value in any work. Certainly there are major mass producing anime companies (Kyoto Animation, PA Works) that have good qualities as well, but I would hope you think the quality of this anime transcends them.
Key bullets
-Watch this anime. It's short, and I can confidently say there are many more things you would like about this anime than not.
Oh also, my parents say the coffee brand Evlend is pretty good.
