Fell in love at first sight.
This is actually the very first review I have written, so I plan to make it awesome! Too be honest, I did not hear about [Traveling Daru] until I read about it on Crunchyroll. The moment I saw that cute picture of a toy daruma, I immediately fell in love. I am also a big fan of the other movies produced by the same people. How can you not find Daru so cute?! Well, unless you don't like cute ...

Le Daruma Rouge / The Red Daruma
Around the world in ten minutes... this short compares favorably with Albert Lamorisse's classic The Red Balloon / Le Ballon Rouge. Sweet story and beautiful instrumental soundtrack. A succinct success!

    The Traveling Daru!!
In this little movie, a little girl drops her toy named Daru. After that, Daru goes on an adventure to find his owner. This was an unexpected emotional journey that I experienced as I travelled with Daru. I thoroughly enjoyed his quest, and though short, it truly gave a powerful connection.

This is a truely beautiful little anime.
Though this anime is almost wordless, and over in the blink of an eye, it conveys everything it needs to, to be absolutely lovely.
The artwork is adorable, the concept is endlessly sweet, and the main character is every child's dream of what a best friend should be.... Someone who would go on an adventure to the ends of the earth for you.

  • A hidden gem among hidden Gems.
The only regret I have about this little short was that it was not longer. The story is that a little girl makes a little daruma doll like plush for herself that she adores completely. One day, however, the two get separated at an airport. And thus, begin Daru's journey for her. Daru goes everywhere on our earth looking for her, and no matter how long it takes, he almost never gives up hope. ...

    Traveling Daru is cute
Traveling Daru is a cute minisode, reminds me of a children's book I had read once a long time ago. I would have loved to have seen this episode extended into several episodes maybe into a light manga or anime one day. The vibrant colors explode with the story, making a well animated anime.

  • A Short But Surprisingly Good Episode
Though many of my more current reviews tell about the writer or the studio that makes the show, this one will not. I was unable to find any information about this 10 minute short. The story is, as I said, 10 minutes and only one episode long. It has just two lines of dialogue in it, but the art is outstanding. Though the way the people are drawn might be off putting, its the scenery that is ...

  • A Very Sentimental 10 Minutes
Although this film is just over 10 minutes long, that is all that is needed to convey this beautiful story of a young girl who has lost her favorite toy. The animation is vibrant and even with lack of dialogue the story is very touching. Truly heart-felt for such a short film. Take a few minutes to travel with Daru and you will not regret it.
