Such an amazing group

When I first heard VAMPS, I was amazed at how they sound like. Hyde's voice sounds nice. I like how the music sounds too. They're just cool in general. I really wished I discovered this group earlier.

One of the most amazing Japanese rock bands most people haven't heard of...

...but hopefully that's about to change. From the high octane fist pumpers to the melodic reflective ballads, it's not hard to see why Vamps is the band to watch for. If you take one listen to their music you can hear their rock influences, particularly the elements of classic rock, punk and metal. Listen to their breakthrough "Sex, blood, rock 'n' roll" and their sophomore follow-up "Beast" ...

...but hopefully that's about to change. From the high octane fist pumpers to the melodic reflective ballads, it's not hard to see why Vamps is the band to watch for. If you take one listen to their music you can hear their rock influences, particularly the elements of classic rock, punk and metal. Listen to their breakthrough "Sex, blood, rock 'n' roll" and their sophomore follow-up "Beast" and you will get the feel of a band that is constructing their own niche in the rock 'n' roll genre.

When I talk about Vamps I tend to shy away from describing their music as "Japanese rock" because I feel it's too limiting in scope. They're one of the few bands whose music holds no cultural barriers. I can play their songs to a person of almost any background and any other language, and instantly they will recognize something familiar in the music and at the same time greatly unique. Who cares about the language when the music is already speaking volumes! It could be Hyde's hauntingly beautiful voice (the man can make a melodic croon and a death metal shriek sound effortless) or it could be Kaz's masterful and seductive guitar riffs, but whatever it is you can't help but get hooked on their sound.

Do not miss the chance to see them live. It's a unique and intimate experience that every rock enthusiast should have. What keeps their fan base ever growing, is their ability to translate their rock anthems and monster ballads into concert gold! It seems like they are one of the few rock bands that can make an album meant to be experienced live. These guys really give their all in every performance. They play for their fans and it never feels superficial, forced or rushed. Not a single piano key, guitar note, or vocal nuance get's lost in translation. Their music puts the blood, sweat, and ass-kick back into a musical genre that has lost it's edge. Ever since the artificial, cookie-cutter rock model took form, rock fans have been looking for that heartbeat that rock had lost. I can safely say it's still pumping hard in a band called Vamps.

My First and Last Impression

To be honest, I am not their oldest fan. I am more of their recently new ones because my friend had suggested them to me somewhere in the beginning of this year. At first I wanted to stay away from every that had to do with "Vampires" because of the recent fads. But as I listened to the music, it caught my attention. It wasn't like those wannabe bands that want to sing about love and pain, it was ...

It wasn't like those wannabe bands that want to sing about love and pain, it was a band that was love and pain.
Hyde's voice in the music is so sensational, that even if you didn't understand japanese you could still feel what he was singing about. As for his partner, K.A.Z., his guitar playing is just skilled enough to draw the person more into their music. I can't tell whether they are demon's or angels because their music pulls me in so much.
Whether the music is energetic or not, every morning I listen to their music to get the "feel" of the day while lip syncing.
However, if I do try to compare it with other artists. I can't say VAMPS are my number one because after all, there are still more J-rock bands to explore. Though Hyde and K.A.Z. should be on my top 5 list of favorite Bands!!!

BIG HEARTS FOR VAMPS

The first time I heard of them was at the 2009 Anime Expo. I fell in love with their music instantly. Every Time I hear their music I go into complete FANGIRL Mode. I have posters of them everywhere. I fell in love with HYDE's voice since his solo work and the addition of K.A.Z.'s guitar is awesome. I did not know that they formed a band until I got the flyer at the Anime Expo. I Absolutely Love love love love love love this band

This Band is the First band that I exploded into a major fit of rolling all over hugging myself and screaming OMGGGGG omg omg omg !!!! Basically they are extremely hot and talented I have not stopped screaming OMGgggggg so effing hot!!!!! Every time I see them.

I can proudly say I am a huge fan of VAMPS for quite some time now. I have been a fan of HYDE for years and when he moved on to this project I was glad to follow. As an anime fan since my "youth" I have naturally been a fan of J-rock. The first time I heard HYDE, I was honestly amazed at how easily I was a fan at the first sound of his skills. As an anime fan since my "youth" I have naturally been a fan of J-rock. The first time I heard HYDE, I was honestly amazed at how easily I was a fan at the first sound of his skills. I didn't know much of Kaz before VAMPS but since I have begun listening to them, I have been won over by his skill as well.
I like the honest sound of the music. It never sounds forced or "studio corrected" as some of todays rock stars do when they are "marketed". The talent is a balance. I look forward to many rocking years of this band. May I be so lucky as to someday catch them live.

Hyde is a wonderful singer

Vamp's has such mellow music it reminds me of GACKT or some of Gazette.
I'll listen to Jrock over American Rock anyday.
I love Hyde I've always liked him.
I grew up finding out jrock bands and listening to them and even seeing them in concerts. Over seas bands are the best for concerts.
. I'm still exploring but Hyde / Vamps is always going to be my top favorite.
I'd love to go see them ...

VAMPS 2010 world tour FTW!

The first time I heard of VAMPS was when I was looking up L'arc en ciel videos on youtube and I was spellbound by their song "Love Addict" :D. Hyde's heavenly voice and K.A.Z.'s guitar skills make them a wonderful duo to listen to. I also loved his appearance in the movie "Moon Child" with Gackt and then his duet with Gackt in "Orenji no taiyou." As for K.AZ., words can't begin to describe his godly guitar skills :D. They make such a magnificent pair!! They are both wonderful artists who have an innumerable amount of fans including myself! I can't wait to see them live here in LA! All the best wishes for them! <3

I love most of their music

I love all their music videos they so cool and funny, I first liked the gundam 00, l arc en ciel, and read that their band leader was also in another band and so i looked up the vamps and heard a few of their songs and it was amazing, it was fantastic, i love the way their voice sounds, and when they do cover songs, it sounds better than the originals

Hyde loves rock. His 'solo band', VAMPS, has much more of a 60's-70's classic rock sound (think of what you may have heard your parents listening to) with a good dose of (no other way of explaining it) musical sexual grinding. Adding the talented and seasoned guitarist, K.A.Z, to the permanent line up fills out the instrumental side in a way only one lead guitar could only dream to.

From their first full length album, songs like "SEX BLOOD ROCK N' ROLL" "redrum" "love addict" and "I gotta kick start now" will get you on your feet and dancing around the room! other songs, like "sweet dreams" and "evanescent" will wrap it's musical notes around you like a blanket and lull you into a sense of wonder and awe. The layers and diversity of songs that are on this album show off both Hyde's and K.A.Z's versatility as musicians.

Many people often wonder if bands sound as good live, as they do on the CD. As a person who went to both the San Francisco, and the Las Vegas concerts in 2009, I can tell you that not only is VAMPS worth going and seeing live, but they're worth seeing twice. The guitar solo's, vocal control, interaction with the fans, not to mention the charisma and magnetism of the band members, will pull you in from the very beginning, singing along throughout the event, and have you begging for more before the last song ends.

Although you may consider my review biased, since I've been a fan for over a year now, give VAMPS a serious listen. after you've listened to them, listen to them again, and THEN tell me what you think and why. See if you can really disagree with what I've said.
