A Sci-Fi Sailor Moon (In HD)
(I have not watched either Strike Witches or anything in the Nanoha line, so my point of view on this show may differ from the majority.) In terms of anime fandom, I belong to the Sailor Moon generation, and the "magical girl" genre, though it did not originate from that show, has been definitively shaped by it. Watching Vividred Operation made me feel like I was ...

    Cool anime, great storyline/characters
Vividred Operation was a good anime, great art style and funny/adorable characters; however, the plot was a BIT cliche but it was interesting, I like all the characters in this series especially Wakaba,

Overall it was a great anime with cool character but they could've expanded on the story, I really wish there were more episodes.

Cheeky Piece of Work? Bottom of the Barrel? Butt of All Jokes?
I can do this all day, folks. But let's be serious.

From mad or genius mind of (bloomers) the man who directed (chacha) Strike Witches, Kazuhiro Takamura, comes Vividred Operation. Set in the (between-the-legs) future, on the island of Izu Oshima (it's a real place, you can look it up), humanity has entered (pantyshot) an age of peace; thanks to the Manifestation ...

  • Guilty fun for all the wrong reasons
Watching this show is like watching a play written and produced by a bunch of talented 10 year olds. The concept is decent, and it tries so hard to be what it wants to be that you find yourself laughing at all the wrong spots. Part of the problem is the length. This was clearly designed as a 12 part series with no hope of extension, but there's actually a lot of "story" they have to get through ...

  • Nothing particularly special
This anime was nothing particularly special. The end was fairly obvious by the third episode. However, it is well made, and parts of it are cute. I watched it mostly to have a shared show with one of my kids.

They didn't really... did they... ? Yeah, they did.
The first episode opens on a lovely scene of a rising sun... as seen between a young girls legs from behind, accentuating her buttocks and pubic bulge. And guess what... yes, that really does tell you all you need to know this time.

The plot here is useless, full of WTF moments that make you simply shake your head and eventually the laughing just won't stop. The fan service is not even high ...

  • cliche isn't always a bad thing
sure, it's got lots of fanservice and kind of a cliche story, but that doesn't make it a bad show. it had well written main characters, clean animation and talented voice acting, and in the end, isn't that what makes a show enjoyable? and heck, even cliche stories can be good, too.
if you think about it, what well written story hasn't taken a page from other well written stories. even the epic ...

  • Ok... But not fabulous...
So this anime uses a magical girl basis with some science, kind of... But unlike other shows, Vividred Operation feels plain. The characters are typical and their fights always end successfully. I can't feel very much action and suspense from this anime... All in all, it's "acceptable".

    Description Needs Fixing
Reading the description made it sound like this would be an interesting sci-fi about science solving all the world's problems and then said science screwing the world over only to be saved by more science. Yay science. But no. Instead it's about science powered magical girls that transform using the power of love and friendship and happiness and sunshine and bleeeegh I'm puking rainbows in the ...

It's okay for what it is...
...That is to say - decidedly not what it was advertised as. Anyone expecting a sci-fi saga (hopefully) a bit less complex than Noein is going to be sorely disappointed.
The first three episodes demonstrate this to be pretty much a typical magical girl show, albeit with a sci-fi aesthetic. Every remotely sci-fi topic gets handwaved away at best, and at worst we'll get stuck with something about ...
