Captivating, yet...brief. It certainly does not fail to impress or disdain at times, which is really for the best.
To date, I don't think I've watched a series that has pulled me in as much with the first episode as White Album (W.A.) did. I greatly enjoy that such a title was so wonderfully produced, and I stand stunned at the deep context that can be found in between the so-called "love-polygon" which it seems to convey. Deep down, every person has a weakness, and Touya Fuji's was never truly realizing just ...

White Album - One to kill time with
My first (accidental) foray into harem anime, White Album kept me watching until the 26th episode, but I'm still not entirely sure why.

The plot at first seems like it might be complex but ultimately is about a string of relationships that the main character Touya Fuji has with a variety of women in his life whom he calls his 'goddesses'. The backdrop being that his childhood sweetheart is an ...

    Interesting but flawed
This is a very strange harem anime.

It´s very serious, the art style is awesome and the soundtrack is incredible.

The main character tough is absolutely enerving and the "main girl" Yuki is boring and lifeless.

The pace is slow and the resolutions are not convincing.

Watch only if you´re really in the mood of something slow and vague.

A Captivating Anime, With A Great Plot
I've read people complain about the pacing of the plot, but I think it goes at a perfect pace. It never gets boring and you want to keep watching even after saying "Just one more episode". The story revolves around a girl named Yuki, who wants to become an idol. Her boyfriend Toya experiences a lot of emotional trouble along the way, due to the challenge of dating an idol. The story is ...

Nothing too amazing. Doesnt really do it for me...
I don't feel like this anime really stood out to me. There were some impressions made in the first episode I didn't feel it lived up to. I was able to sit through the first 3 episodes, but after that I promptly lost interest. It feels more like something I can watch when I have a full pack of cigarettes and a lot of time to kill while waiting for episodes of other animes to come out, or before I ...

Each corse lay flat, lifeless and flat,
Yet another show featuring an uninteresting guy dealing with women who are attracted to him for some unfathomable reason. Usually this is done as comedy but here the laughs are unintentional and the main character veers from attempting to seem unemotional to being a creep. The female characters don't fare much better and after being given short backgrounds are brought out on occasion to spout ...

Slow burn and a MC you can't help but want to kick!
The pacing is extremely slow, and at times the story wonders leaving the viewer confused. Likely this is intentional (I am not aware if this is based on any other source media and I will not check) in order to tell this story over the full 26 episodes. In a way this story was to large for 13 and too small for 26. For the last 3-4 episodes the story drags on with no real development.

    As for ...

Good, But I Wouldn't Say Great
I found the animation style nice to view, but the story went slowly along, offering only a brief glance at the surface of some of the lightest and more seedy aspects of characters in the world of "pop-idol" music industry that might be found.

The story does lead one along well, making one wonder how these characters and their stories really fit together to make a cohesive web of plotline to ...

This Just Was Hard To Like
If there was a phrase that would define this series, it would be "pointlessly slow". I get series that take a long time to develop an interesting plot or world, but this series didn't need that. It was just a normal, generic romance. Also, that brings me to the romance, which was pretty lame. The main male character is a really annoying guy, who has a relationship with several people at the same ...

  • Better than I was led to expect
I saw that White Album 2 was highly regarded, so I figured I'd start with the original first. This, despite the warnings that it wasn't as good as WA2. I haven't watched WA2 yet, so obviously I am not trying to compare them.

The great thing about the characters is that they are not thorough cliches. They all have flaws, and many show glimpses of interesting back-story. But with so many ...
