Review of Yokuwakaru Gendai Maho for the otaku
Classical magic is so Y2K! So move aside, here comes "comprehensible modern magic" for the new millennium. There're action, comedy, a temporal mystery, and a lovable cast consisting of the ditz (Koyomi), the cool chick (Misa), the loli and the boing (yes Yumiko pulls double duty on this one -- now that's what I called a dedicated MOE actress!)

To help you learn about modern programming, I've ...

My review on Yokuwakaru Gendai Mahou
    FIRST EPISODE REVIEW
Yokuwakaru Gendai Mahou is about a world filled with "codes" or known as magic. The anime starts off with a high pitch petite girl named yumiko who inherits her grandfathers blood, who was this powerful mage. She leaves her home in order to learn more about these "codes" in a magic school. On here way there this evil mage is trying to kill her for her staff that ...

Watch out for wash basins! XD
This was an interesting series and here's my review of Yokuwakaru Gendai Maho! It is not your average magical anime series.

Storyline: Bascially, its about this girl named Koyomi Morishita and she's a mage-in-training but she's also a clutz, plus she can summon wash basins out of nowhere! She also gets help from her friends, and tries to improve her magic. Normally, when people summon ...

    AniMatsuri -- Review
Not the best, but not the worst ...
After watching the first episode, I can say that the OP&ED are not fantastic but I like the color of the anime : cheerful. The animation and music are average.
Characters have a good design, with great seiyuu (fit perfectly to these little girl --> Koyomi and Yumiko) but their character are not original, especially Misa Anehara who are the type of mature ...

Don't watch this if you don't like fan service. Oh and it's not a good one for kids.
If your not in to fan service and you like stronger female characters types don't watch this anime. It will turn you stomach.

I started watching this because was intrigued by the idea of computer and old style magic types. By the first episode I was fairly certain I wasn't going to like it.

Within the first four minutes of the first episode there was a glimpse of the underwear-less ...

code monkey is now code mage
i really enjoyed the over all feel of the show and i understand at lest what they are trying to say if you can program in that world and you have some magic in you you can do magic. i still find it odd that she can only summon basins with time she should be able to turn it into anything she wants.

  • Interesting - an anime with strong support characters
I find the storyline quite interesting including the characters. However the way they portrayed the main character, Koyomi was so shallow that the supporting characters were even more captivating than her. I particularly liked how the writer subtly implied that Soshiro was interested in Koyomi. I liked the pacing and I did not really regret watching the whole show. I might even consider watching ...

  • One of those shows..
This show is one of those 'shows' that when people think of anime they think of revealed cartoon characters. I don't like this show, to put it in a blunt way. I believe the characters are a knock off of others. Unoriginal, and also boring, and just plain weird as hell.

  • Good, but unintresting.
The idea behind this show is quit good, but the execution of it left me uninspired. The first episode was interesting, but the second episode left be board, and by the third episode I found my mind wondering. This is Moe anime, but trying to have a bigger story then being Moe, yet too afraid of not being Moe that it never gets to far away from Moe to be interesting, but never giving enough Moe to ...

  • excellent series overall
Yokuwakaru Gendai Maho is one of those series that makes you stop and go, "Hmm I never thought about that before..." At first, it seems like your traditional magical-girl fare: a young female finds a piece of paper advertising a magic school that she's never heard of before, but somehow feels drawn to because the book that she finds it in, is supposedly written in a magical language that only ...
