YuruYuri

I will state this for the record as of now, Personally I have nothing against female only cast anime nor do I hate the seinen genre either. However I do feel like they are making to many anime adaptions as of late thus over saturating the market. Now is Yuru Yuri a bad show?? That depends on how many of these shows you have seen before or even if your fan of moe~ anime then don't even bother with this series. I did state earlier that I was only going to review one moe~ anime but due to fact that it has been licensed Yuru Yuri will fill in that gap as of now, due in part that I need something sweet and nice to watch during my summer season. I am giving this anime two ratings due in part on how deserve viewers are on these types of shows.

Yuru Yuri is about or main female leads Akari, Kyoko, Yui, and Chinatsu that go to an all girls private school. "where have i see this set-up before??"...Nope can't think of thing but this aside it starts off with our main female lead Akari getting woke up by her two senior class-mates Kyoko and Yui. The character introductions are short/quick which is something I really like for the genre of anime due in part it's the jokes/interactions that make this type of show watchable. Now there is a pretty dark joke early one where Kyoko walks into Akari's older sisters room "after she forgot to put on her out-fit for her first day of middle school', and well.. It was pretty damn funny to see Kyoko's reaction.

Later that day or in the second half we get introduced to our other female lead Chinatsu who is in the same class as Akari but she didn't come to their club, "gee what a surprise". Chinatsu came to join the tea party club but it was disbanded due to lack of the members so Chinatsu decides to join their amusement club for the time being which has nothing to do with music by the way..."I swear I have seen this some where before..or maybe it's just me..." Well moving on from that I will say Kyoko happens to be one the better characters out due in part of how flamboyantly gay she is for Chinatsu " Hence the Yuri element/name". This plays off pretty funny in some of the skits where Kyoko trys to get Chinatsu but is always being cock-blocked by Yui..so you can tell where that's heading.

As for the main female lead Akrai?? She happens to be one the most plain, boring and ditzy characters out there and they are even willing to admit. Now per-say is she a bad characters?? No not really just your a-typical innocent/naive girl that always pops up in every anime now and then. Personally I don't hate her character what soever, but maybe it's due in part that it takes a-lot for me to actually hate an anime character. Fitting a stereo-type alone is not enough for me to hate a character it's how the director decides to play off that character in their role.

I will also give props for the opening song for Yuru Yuri as well.. It's been a long time to where I actually had a song stuck in my head and the OP doesn't disappoint in that department. The rest of the music also plays off on the mood quite well while it's also not anything foreboding or overwhelming either, just a calm laid-back soundtrack. A bit of the down side is the the art-work, nothing really original or even groundbreaking here, however it is very pleasant to look at so at least my eyes aren't bleeding as if I was watching Twin Angel again....or even worse Kiss x Sis but that would be my nutbladder broken after watching that..

That's about all I can add or say for this anime, if you like k-on, lucky star, azumanga daioh, a-channel, kana-memo and so forth you will like this show. If you hate anime with an all female cast or are not into to "cute girls doing cute things" then don't even bother with this show. There is no action, no fighting or save the world from an impending doom story. All Yuru Yuri happens to be is noting more than a slice of anime with huge yuri over-tones which as I sated before if it's not your thing, don't even bother. Peace out every-one and until next-time.

If you like Azumanga Daioh or Mitsudomoe. then this anime might be for you!

Plot: The plot revolves around four friends who, upon entering middle school, decide to form an Amusement Club. They base their club in the old Tea Ceremony clubroom which has been abandoned since its members graduated the year before. Their plan for the Amusement Club is to do whatever they like, or just laze about in the clubroom. Before long, a first-year arives, seeking to join the Tea Ceremony Club, and upon realising it no longer exists, joins the Amusement Club instead. It's then that their fun begins!

About: This is a 'slice of life' series, and is very reminiscent of Azumanga Daioh or Lucky Star. The plot progression looks as though this anime will turn into a mild yuri anime with lots of laughs. It's not a difficult anime to understand, and it is very lighthearted, ideal for people who want something to enjoy watching without having to be up-to-date on the plot, or to think too hard about hidden meanings or character development (in other words, it is not a Neon Genesis-type anime!).

Yuri Content: So far (episode 2) there is only mild, suggested yuri. I suspect this series will give more innuendo and comedic yuri than the serious love stories such as in Strawberry Panic, and going by the animation style and plot content, I highly doubt any ecchi or mature content.

Animation/Style: The animation is extermely bright, rounded and cute, similar to Lilpri, Squid Girl or Hanamaru Kindergarten. It is very smooth, flows well and is nicely voiced. It's got a very modern look, without 'trying too hard'. A really cute, amusing anime that definitely warrants a watch.

To be honest, this was my first Yuri anime (I had no idea what Yuri was), and I thought that this anime was getting weird when I started to watch a few episodes of it, but in the end, I love this anime! I haven't watched any other Yuri animes besides this one so I cannot compare it to others, but other people are saying that this isn't really Yuri anime because they don't focus on it too much, but I love the character's personality, the plotline, and of course the jokes they make! Everything about this anime is just great!
The soundtrack, is kind of weird to listen to outside of the anime, but the quirky fun sounding music to this anime fits it really well! I also listened to the singles that the characters sung, and I loved it as well!

I hope that they will really come with a second season, and I can't wait to stumble upon more anime just like Yuri Yuri!

So basically this show is just about these 4 girls...........Yui and Kyoko is in their 2 yr of high school and Akari and Chinatsu is in their 1 yr of high school. On the very first day bk to school Kyoko make the Tea Ceremony Room into her own club called the Amusement Club and of course Akari and Yui join the club as well........Then later on Chinatsu sign up as well.. Then as each episode pass on they intro new characters as well making it more funny,silly,and a hint of Yuri. Overall I think this show is very good to pass time and defenitley make u smile or laugh and bring bk memories when u was in high school

What I thought about it: Ok, so this anime is very cute. It makes me laugh and makes me yearn for more episodes. This takes place in a school for girls who have fun and well, think about love. But not for guys but the same gender. The thing I really love about this series is "Akira". She is just so cute! She is the main character but she lacks presence so she blends in with the supporting characters. I just love her dumpling-missiles. Okay, Okay, back to the review!

Storyline: This story really doesn't have a storyline. Its like a bunch of random events put together, actually. But I really like how the series goes along pretty well.

Music: There's hardly any music BUT the opening and the ending. I think the opening is so adorable. I never skipped one opening because I just really love it, you know? Also, the ending is pretty good, too but I don't listen it alot because I just can't wait to watch the next episode!

Characters: My favorite character in the story is "Akira and Kyoko" because they make me laugh so much that I practically burst in to tears! There are some characters I didn't really like but, without them, the story wouldn't be interesting, right?

Animation: I have to give this rate a 1000+. It is truly HD-AMAZING. I really love it and I want to continue watching this series with this kind of quality!<3

My Conclusion: I have to give it to the creators. They really made a series that I'm really hooked on. I can't wait for the second season that comes out in July. I'll definitely watch it! Ok let me start by saying that before i started watching this show, I had no idea what yuri was and I didn't find out what it ment until I've watched the entire series twice. Now normally i would most likely be disturbed by the thought of 12 year old lesbians (seriously, wtf Japan) but this show is SOOOO FRIGGIN' HILARIOUS!!!!! I am definitely waiting for this to come out on DVD and adding it to my collection. I've rewatched this series at least four times now and Im not planning on stopping. Even though this show is yuri, I didn't think anything of it it's funny and not annoying. Great show, it'll be funny for guys and girls(if you think more like a guy).

YuruYuri is an all girl anime which focuses on the day to day lives of students in an all-girls school. The first time I looked at the title and the poster, my mind obviously went to lesbians but in this anime it plays it on the "yes they are" and "maybe they are, maybe they're not" line of girl's love. In most scenes, yes it does imply very heavily that it is a girl's love themed anime. Characters are adorable and innocent at times and annoying at times and the story can be very unfocused, relying to much on the romantic tensions of the characters and the jokes pushed in between it, which flat out slows down the whole anime. The romantic tensions themselves are kind of repetitive and never fully develop or sometimes taken seriously at points. Even though it has a homosexual implementation, it plays it innocently enough (even with the constant nosebleeds of one of the characters) that its not insulting. Its not a bad anime by any means but it is average at best.

Overall: Not bad but not great.
Storyline: A very simple premise but an unfocused plot.
Music: A song repeatedly singing the words of the title with a really catchy beat is nothing short of "it will never leave your head".
Characters: Innocent and lively with their personalities complementing each other though their gags and tendencies can become annoying and interaction relies too much on undeveloped romantic tensions.
Animation: Cheery, happy and cute though character designs of the girls look exactly the same with different wigs.

So, I started watching this without ''realizing'' it.. At first I was like Hehe this is... ? I didn't know how to describe it, but after 3 minutes of watching the first episode I started to die of laughter. Seriously its such a humorous and awesome series. HAHA every one of them is my favorite character.. HAHA I really love this show, even though it's a guilty pleasure. I really recommend you watching. And I'm really looking forward to more episodes.

when i first saw this series here i thought that it wasn't going to be very good, i was wrong. this series is very good and humorous. i loved it. the way that this series can be summed up is: Akari and her friends get into different situations and have fun with it.
the storyline is quite split up. you have a different story per episode. however like i said before, they are all hurmorous.
the music was entertaining as it set the mood of the opening and closing credits as well as the rest of the episode. it was a more upbeat than most songs meaning that this is definitely a comedy.
the characters were completely original, there were no repeating character traits, they were all their own person.
i love the style of animation that is in this series, this style is what drew me to anime in the first place.
i would highly recommend this to anyone who loves comedy and upbeat stories.
